Cutcliffe is not going to be told who his staff will be. A buddy of mine knows him pretty well. Cut initially accepted and then turned down the UT job when we hired Dooley. There were a couple of main reasons. First, about half the team was one strike away from being booted for failed drug tests, including the quarterback and best wide receiver. Second, he was not going to be allowed to hire his own staff. If you get Cut, he will bring his entire Duke staff, much like Butch did from Cincy. I have no problem with that. The idea of a coach in waiting is not realistic however. Let's keep it real. Do you want Duke's staff? It might not be all that bad all things considered.
