It’s happening

Our fanbase is as bat**** crazy as our admin has been. Let Fulmer reel in the big fish and let Pruitt finish out the season that he is committed to. Integrity gents and we can’t have it both ways. I have over a 100 guys working for me and hire all the time. Any time one says he is just going to start immediately and quit I pass. Coaching is no different but you can better believe he would be multitasking and that says a lot on both parties that they want him to finish. One thing to remember, Pruitt and his family are giant sized bammers and he would
most assuredly want to leave on good terms. Buddies wife went to HS with him and I hope the ticket angle plays out.

Do we even know that it is true that Pruitt wants to stay on with Alabama until the CFP is over or are we just running on speciation and rumors?! It could also be that Fulmer has not made a decision yet.

If Fulmer refuses to make a decision, he is no better than Currie and then needs to go. You have a quality guy in sights, pull the dang trigger and end this disaster. Hire the coach and take your butt back to the AD office, staying out of the coaches lane in hiring his own staff. The longer this goes, the greater the chance of Phil screwing it up.

I think he is a good coach. I dont like the fact that he is a bammer.

It will be hard to sell recruits on committing if he stays with Alabama through the playoffs.

Rumor on 247 is Pruitt doesn’t want Tee and Phil wants Tee. Might be a snag.

If Pruitt is the HC then he should be able to hire who he wants & he is overall responsible. Fulmer wants control and if it goes down the tubes then Phil can blame the coach. Does anyone really think Fulmer is going to sit back and let then new coach actually coach? Really?

After Lane last year, Saban won't keep him on staff if he is leaving to coach UT.

So if he is coming he is coming. If he isn't he is staying with us.

Yeah, I think you lost because Lane didn't coach in the championship too. Saban will not want to make that mistake again.

What IF these candidates are actually being interviewed for coordinator positions. And the hc IS the white whale. Could explain the delay in naming the new hc. I want to think something fishy is going on, but it will probably be Pruitt.

Surely you guys can see how much good publicity we get by having him coach in the playoffs. Every announcer will be talking about it during the games and recruits watch these games. Its a rather big recruiting advertisement. Bring Tee in as OC and let him recruit on the ground while we are waiting on Pruitt. What better way to keep us in the recruits minds during the playoffs?

Dream on - the only good publicity will be about BAMA. Get real!

So we should pass on Pruitt because he wants the rarity of being apart of a national championship team? Got it. Inferior coach, come on down! Really, what sense does that make? Hiring a lesser coach because the one we want wants to coach in the playoffs? Let me say that again...THE PLAYOFFS. Not to mention the recruits that may follow him to Tennessee instead of Alabama. If they pass on him because of the playoffs, Tennessee is worse off then they appear.

Yeah, we want to sacrifice the next 10 years for the next 2 weeks worth of recruiting.

Lane was a distraction. Obvious even from the outside looking in. He wasn't committed.

Most folks on their way out are not fully invested.

Some are so desperate they are fine with letting him wait a month before he starts work at Tennessee.

These are the same folks that will be complaining when all the good staff members have been picked up by all the other teams and Tennessee is stuck scraping the barrel.

i think it's more bama wants him to stay thru the playoff more than he wants to stay thru the playoff.
Mike Leach so we can have some offense and then we can work on the defense. If you can't put up points then your defense is useless. My vote is for Mike Leach.

Either hire him by 11:45 tonight or wait til Friday! Our last Pearl Harbor Day signed Coach didn't turn out so well (Butch).

It's actually 4 weeks - the championship game is not until January 8th.

During that 4 weeks is the early recruiting period. You also have all these other HCs that are busy cherry picking the assistants.

There is no way he can give the proper time to Tennessee and the proper time to Alabama. Both parties will suffer.

And all the early enrollees would need to be signed sealed and delivered in time to enroll in school in early January.

What a great idea. The AD trying to dictate staff before HC is even signed.. Good job Phil.. You really can't make this sh!t up..

My concern is that both parties won't suffer, only we will. The fact that this is even an issue only shows that winning Bama a championship is a bigger priority.

I was told by my 5:10 guy to beware of anyone claiming to have heard something at 5:07.
Looking more and more like that "post 41 from Volballfan at 5:07" was spot on and well before anyone else knew squat. Hope you and your 50 likes enjoy that crow you're about to be eating. P.S.As well as the other non believers lol.

Pretty unfair comment, don't you think? Dooley worked for Saban at LSU from the 2000-2004 seasons. Jimbo Fisher was the O.C. there for the entire 5 seasons that Saban was HC, and Dooley was on the staff.

Then, Dooley worked for Saban for 2 years at the Miami Dolphins from 2005-2006 seasons. Saban hired the O.C. from the Minnesota Vikings to be his O.C. That man is now the O.C. for the Cowboys, and was once head coach of the Rams. I can't remember his name, something like Linehart???

So, in order for Saban to promote Dooley to O.C. since Dooley was an offensive coach, should Saban have:

A) Fired Jimbo as his O.C. at LSU, and given the job to Dooley, or

B) Passed over a proven NFL O.C. from the Vikings, and instead hired a college position coach with no co-ord or NFL experience, and promote Dooley?

Give us a break and face reality.

Perhaps I was a bit harsh on DD, but you will have to excuse me if he left a bad taste in my mouth. However, to your last point, when Saban took DD to Miami with him he had a choice of promoting DD to OC, if he felt he was ready, but instead sought out someone else. And yes, Saban was undoubtedly correct to do as he recognized DD was nothing more than a position coach.
