Going into all the details is more of an in person conversation lol
Long story short, had a buddy that lived here in the states. He got a bunch of traffic tickets and like one weed charge or something, so instead of paying the piper he went to live with his mom back in egypt. I hadn't spoken to him in a while and hit him up on a whim because I was thinking of planning a trip over there. To my surprise he let me stay with them in Port Said.
Blah blah blah, many adventures, riding on camels around the pyramids, buying hashish, trying not to get scammed by the locals, all that fun stuff. Finding the "drinkies" (secretive back rooms of businesses where they serve alcohol away from prying eyes). Met many a characters. One such character was a soldier named Osama. I dontknow if things have changed since I was there but the impression I got is that soldiers could pretty much get away with anything.. for better or worse.
One night we were out enjoying ourselves in Cairo and I realized my tablet was missing. At first I just assumed I left it at the cafe we were just at on accident but Osama was on the case when another guy said he saw someone walk off with one. Osama told me and the others he would find it. He left and met back up with us like 2 hours later with the tablet and said he got it back from the guy that stole it. We didn’t pry but there was a heavy implication he beat the **** out of the guy.
At that point we're all drunk and laughing about it and wandered into a mosque for the morning call to prayer. Dirty looks and mumbling of "what's that smell" in arabic which is basically their version of "you've been drinking, shame on you". Good times.
