Like i sort of hinted above; you might want to look at civilian casualty rates in Japanese and German population centers in WWII. And those numbers were caused by U.S. and Britain largely. Two nations that I hope we can both agree were not out to deliberately cause suffering

I've been saying it. Israel's permanently ruined their brand. They went from victims of genocide to perpetrators, and the Americans that largely refuse to see them for what they are will be mostly dead in 10-20 years.

This is how the issue appears to me...... It's not that genocide is happening in Gaza so much as it's that the Palestinians are on the receiving end, and Israeli Jews responsible. I don't see any other way to reconcile it given the complete ignorance of greater acts of genocide.

There is of course outrage against boko haram and their atrocities. How is what they do a better case for genocide though? You might want to read up on their aims, tactics and victims. They slaughter and kidnap anyone opposed to their politics regardless of tribe or religion.
To say that people oppose Israel's atrocities because of bigotry is overwhelmingly false. People oppose them because they're atrocities.

The UN is a walking contradiction, window dressing the world's problems when it suits them, ignoring and controlling the narrative when it doesn't. It's a den of snakes. It's the world's politics played out on the global scale.

We're supposed to pretend these committees are serious when the worlds worst violators chair them. The UN isn't even a serious joke.

Not a problem. The UN has its problems for sure. It's also been a useful tool to advance our agendas, and its bodies like UNICEF do good. I'd say we should take the good with the bad and try to stem the bad as possible.

Part of the bad part has been pushing our agenda. It's a body that does a horrible job of policing themselves and there is no mechanism to police it. Virtually everything they touch is rife with corruption.
