Interesting question; since liberals reflexively oppose every single thing Trump does; if he is able to bring about a peace deal in Gaza; I guess the dems have no choice but to call for the war to continue 🤔

The jokes about the Italian Military (especially in WWII) are legion.

Here is a favorite of mine…..

A German messenger runs to Hitler and says “Mein Fuhrer, Italy has joined the war.”

He replies “Not to worry, send 1 division to defeat them.”

“No mein Fuhrer they have joined our side.”

“D@&n!“, now we will have to send 10 divisions to help them.”

Yes the civilians are largely innocent but their leadership has put them in that situation. It isn’t fair; but it is inevitable.
Why should we expect Israel to fight a war without civilian casualties when no other single nation in history has been able to do so.

Do you believe Israel is doing everything they can to mitigate civilian casualties? I don’t, I believe they are being intentionally cruel, and so do people that have been on the ground there trying to deliver aid, including Israelis.

Knock bombs, dropping speakers from the sky, establishing protected corridors to aid civilian movement, medically evacuating Palestinians and treating them in Israeli hospitals

I would challenge you to find a country that has done more for the civilians of their enemy

I do believe they are doing all they can. Especially in a densely populated urban environment. They are using precision munitions and warning residents ahead of strikes. If Israel wanted to be cruel and promote extra suffering they would be carpet bombing or using incendiaries.
Like i sort of hinted above; you might want to look at civilian casualty rates in Japanese and German population centers in WWII. And those numbers were caused by U.S. and Britain largely. Two nations that I hope we can both agree were not out to deliberately cause suffering

The bombing of Dresden was a terrible act of cruelty inflicted on (almost exclusively) civilians, as was the fire bombing of Tokyo. In hindsight, many decision-makers regretted this and it remains a stain on the reputation of the allied countries. Both acts were also committed against countries on relatively equal footing as the allies. Palestinians are not on equal footing and are being intentionally starved, dehumanized, and abused. Shame on anyone ok with it.

That last sentence is just silly. Haven't you yourself commented on Churchill's desire to inflict suffering on the German population to break their morale?

Shouldn’t have started a war they couldn’t win with the people they rely on for their sustenance.

So let me see if I understand you correctly. Israel is not allowed to defend itself against anyone unless they are on equal footing?

A war cannot be fought except between equals? Surely I am not understanding this correctly?
