Her line is exclusive to Sephora. Sephora makes 200 million a year from the Huda Beauty line.

The creator made a video saying that Israel is responsible for all the atrocities in the world. She included WWI, WWII, 9/11, 10/08 etc and stealing organs from Palestinians.

Obviously there has been backlash. The video was taken down. She came out with an apology video which apparently was her saying that there is a smear campaign against her calling her an antisemite.

I don’t want to focus on is it right or wrong if she should be canceled or not.

That’s a whole different debate.

I’m more interested the situation that a company like Sephora is in.

It’s been a week and they are still looking into it.

You have the Huda beauty supporters saying if Huda Beauty gets dropped they will all boycott Sephora.

I still wonder in amazement that after all the posts in thread one and two that there are still those that keep insisting that the ones that started the unprovoked conflict should have any say whatsoever in how it’s fought or won. This is exactly what I was talking about in the former thread. Here is a woman who swears up and down that she's not an antisemite. She's just criticizing "The State of Israel." We would call that antizionism, right?

But in so doing she blames the State of Israel for not only attacks the State itself suffered, but for events that occurred before the State of Israel even existed. This is antisemitism couched as antizionism. There is nothing else it can be called.

Imagine putting your entire business/wealth/worth in the hands of a 20 something year old girl. I know from personal experience that 20 something year old girls are about as reliable as toddlers. They change their minds constantly, operate entirely based on emotions...not logic or reaon...and they're terribly irresponsible. Most of them crash and burn regularly. Imagine putting the fate of your entire billion dollar company in HER hands. As well as the livelihoods of all the employees that actually do develop, produce, distribute, and sell your product. They all lose too. Imagine putting your entire lifes work in the hands of this girl. No thanks.

Buddy, what? I get there are accidental casualties, and some you might intentionally abide to get a guy like Bin Ladin, but intentionally shooting children is not "war is war." War is war and war crimes are another thing.

It is genocide because genocide has a legal definition and the criteria has been met.

Everyone who claims it's not genocide seems to think that Israel's goal has to be the complete annihilation of all Palestinians. And, conveniently, they're never going to believe that's Israel's intent unless Israel explicitly says it.

But the criteria isn't that stringent.

The legal definition of genocide is outlined in the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (1948), adopted by the United Nations. According to Article II of the convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial, or religious group:

1. Killing members of the group; (big ol fkn check mark)
2. Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (big ol fkn check mark)
3. Deliberately inflicting conditions calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part (such as creating living conditions that lead to death); (big ol fkn check mark)
4. Imposing measures to prevent births within the group; (allegations)
5. Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group. (debatable)

These acts must be carried out with the specific intent to destroy the group, either in whole or in part. This intent is a key element in determining whether a crime qualifies as genocide under international law.

Arguably, they meet every condition and they definitely meet 3 of the most objective conditions. The subjective is the intent. In order to say this is not genocide, you have to believe that Israel's intent is not to destroy Gaza, it's just kinda happening even though they said their plan is to take Gaza and ethnically cleanse the region, which means erasing Palestinian Gaza life forever by killing 100k+ in the process, but not in a genocidal way.

Exactly, you have to consider all the employees, stock holders etc.

So at this point it’s about damage control.

Sephora is a for profit business. It’s not a charity or wanting to be political.

Which is the better result?

I think dropping her would be much more devastating. This will pass and people have short attention spans.

If they drop her, the Free Free Palestine mob will be relentless. Saying they are complicit with all the “Genocide, ethnic cleansing and famine.”
