That we are literally waiting for this same day to already come next year. Based on our schedule and departures, we have to endure another bammer run for the title in '13-14 season

No. We're looking that far ahead because its a long way til we can see our new team play, and we are still in recruit mode. Give it a few weeks and a lot of people will be focusing on the current team...

It also helps that next years class has insane potential.

Hey how about we just wait and see how the season plays out, since we haven't even made it to the spring game yet??

Isn't it awesome that we just signed 21 new Vols and spring practice is around the corner?

Soon after the O&W game in Neyland Stadium will be taking place. Moms and Dads will bringing the little ones for their first visit, autographs will make middle schoolers smile from ear to ear, optimism for the 2013 season will be tremendous.

Then the new class will arrive on campus, reporting for duty, in June. Reports of how so and so put on 20lbs of lean muscle and shaved time off his 40. The players are bonding really well already and having a blast in the new facility. Workouts are brutal and the players are getting bigger, stronger and faster.

Now onto summer camps where athletes from all over will journey to Knoxville and UT's campus, they'll get to see what we all love and possibly commit to wear the Orange and White. New prospects will emerge and threads on VN will be created, offers will be handed out, commits will take place and UT will shoot up the rivals board.

Then it's fall camp where we get to hear all the positive reports of who's progressing, which RB is emerging as the starter, which QB might take the starting job, which WR is unguardable, which LB has really surprised the staff, which CB is locking WR's down, which DL is giving Tiny fits...

Then it's kick off!!!!

Isn't it awesome to be a Vol fan? :)

Stop making threads like this in the Recruiting Forum, please and thanks.

Not saying I like the thread, but OP has a right to start any thread he wants (within the rules) in the Recruiting Forum as long as it pertains to recruiting.

Reality is not allowed. You have to have blind and unconditional support for every coach and every player. If you don't then you get called childish names like negavol

I liked your post as well ron. This was in no way a bash our staff or class thread, it was just realizing that the rebuild process is slow and painful

I believe his request is based on the fact there are multiple threads already in which OP's post would fit perfectly fine in; therefore unnecessary for its own thread.

Perhaps a merge request would have made this point more clear. :hi:

I was kind of bummed about this class until I started looking at our rankings through the years. As it turns out, it varies quite a bit.

I'm already feeling better about the future. We have hope for this coming year - not to be national champions, necessarily, but to improve and to have a team and coach that we can be proud of. Hope is such a good thing. It makes life so much better. So does being a VOL fan, not because we always win, but because it's a part of who we are. I like this part of who I am and have decided to enjoy it no matter. It's not that I won't care whether we win or lose, because I will. And caring about something makes life worth living.

I hear ya, man. None of us like to lose, we all hate losing season after losing season. But we're still the luckiest fans in the world, IMO. We're Vols. It will get better, it always does. Just stay positive and focus on that. As Butch Jones said in his press conference, you're either a fountain or a drain.

Let's be fountains, you in? :salute:

It is vaguely about recruiting...it's just clutter. I like this forum because the discussion is usually kept in one thread and the rest of the threads are just about individual recruits. This is a football forum type thread, and I try my best to avoid that forum for that very reason.
