Even If I join 2 PARA (the regular battalion in my town) they would have nothing to do with aerial attacks, that's the job of the RAF. I can confidently say I will never fly a plane in the RAF due to being color blind so that's that.
Difference between you and me is that the reserve forces in the UK are going to be relied on after 2016 due to the cuts to regular infantry so If a large scale conflict involving British ground troops were to occur I would certainly be called for service of some sort, probably within the conflict zone.
So again you have a complete non-point. In any case the regular military personnel sign up for duty and I fail to see the argument that if you think they should intervene you should be the one fighting. I think even reg. military personnel would disagree with that P.O.V. they sign up to protect and serve and don't expect those who sent them, to fight alongside them.
So how does a Brit come to like the Vols, Preds, and Titans?
Same is happening with U.S. Forces. Yankee is just in denial. The rotations and training for Guard and Reserve forces are increasing due to cuts made in the active force. There is always bad perceptions made by active folks about the part timers. Some units honestly deserve the scrutiny. I have worked with some that were in par with active forces and you wouldn't know the difference. I used to have the same bias when I was active. I am a reservist now and have seen both sides of the argument.
I have played American football (locally and for my university) for years and the support for the Titans stemmed from there, support for Preds and Vols spread after that. I mentioned earlier in the thread that when I started getting into college ball I was choosing between Vandy or Vols to follow and was more drawn to the Vols.
Ya'll MidWesterners and your damn storms!
Anyhow, hope all is well if this is what you two are referring to.
This reminds me though. Grand Vol, if you read this, I know you're originally from Tennessee, but do Oklahomans think of themselves as Southerners or as something else? I think the culture is very similar, but sometimes people think of themselves as different. I know this is random as hell, but thoughts? Just something I've always wondered about.
Pretty clear Obama is leaning towards aerial strikes on ISIS militants. Too right! They are monsters, if any of you go on the Liveleak website you can see some horrific videos showing what these terrorist scum are doing to innocent Iraqi civilians.
The fact that you would string these words together shows just how out of touch with reality modern academics actually are.
They tend to think of themselves as Oklahomans lol. Kind of like the way Texans are southern, but call themselves Texan. But Oklahomans add the (thank God we're not Texas) on the end of that lol But overall, they're about the same kind of folks you'd meet in East Tennessee.
Yes, I was talking about the storms. Our May weather is a little late this year. And it's unnerving some out in these parts.
And the fact that you can't see how his presidency was just as bad as this one proves your unabashed, constant bias. I mean, my god, the man presided over an unnecessary war that has cost, according to some estimates, somewhere between 100,000-1,000,000 deaths and also presided over the worst financial crisis we've had since the Depression. But you probably think the damn health care reform is worse than these things, don't you? I agree it's not perfect and needs much amending, but get real.
I may be a dumb academic (which you seem bizarrely obsessed with), but I can at least see the two sides of a coin.
We just don't agree politically, nothing wrong with that. I wouldn't deem that 'trolling'.
Al Gore is, by classical definition, a moonbat. His loony side only started to show significantly after he left office. And as I stated to LG, even most Democrats are probably a little leery of what would have happened had he been in office.
And I find it hard to believe your statement was serious when you are a foreign national that doesn't keep up as much with American politics. And I find it impossible to comprehend your statement that the Supreme Court "robbed" anyone. I don't make statements to that effect when British Courts make ignorant decisions like this:
SAS hero jailed: Sergeant sentenced to two years after gun found in his garage - Mirror Online
You are the typical southern simpleton that ASSERTS and ASSUMES that my level of knowledge on US matters is low on the basis that I'm a foreign national. I think you'll find that I'm well informed on many foreign matters from Australia to India and the US. I enjoy staying informed about foreign affairs, clearly you don't, that's your problem.
Also don't understand the need to link a totally off-topic article accompanied by a statement by you that clearly indicated that YOU don't know British law.
Funny. I'm probably a little more versed in foreign affairs than most southern simpletons.
No, I do know some of your British law, specifically that of firearms in general. However, I think that sometimes circumstances should be taken into account before taking one of your most highly trained soldiers and tossing them in jail like that. Which you obviously missed the point I was making since you cannot understand the example I was making.
Stick to fish and chips mate. You obviously suck at soccer and international politics
And I personally think he was the best man for the job when September 11th happened. I still shudder to think of the condition our country would have been in if Al Gore had been at the helm.
I know exactly about the British soldier's case. He was at the Military Prison located within my town. He of all people should've been aware of the law, just because he was a highly trained soldier he is not above the law. And in any case I originally stated how that article was utterly irrelevant, and remains so, to what we were talking about.
I'd give it six months.
I don't think Al Gore would have lasted 72 seconds before lying on the floor sucking his thumb. And don't even try to argue the point, even most liberals these days deny ever having supported him.
