He is a Scottish, mother****er, isn't he? I think he grew up mostly in England though. Could be wrong. Anyhow, I've heard he's a wonderful man in private; just an absolute hardass to a) sell his show and b) bring some arrogant ******* restauranteurs down to Earth.

Sure, because no houses, or better yet hovels are located right off those roads. No powerlines, either, right. And, of course, destroying powergrids in Iraq in June and July doesn't really affect anyone's life, right?

Educate yourself on what militaries actually do, to include second-order effects of weapons, to include the blast radius of weapons, to include the range of different support platforms, to include time-to-target and time-on-target capacities for such ranges, and then you will realize that the policy you are calling for, one without catastrophic and ugly consequences, is a damn idyllic myth.

My mother is Bulgarian. :) I have always liked Latina women since I lived in Spain during some of my youth and they are so much fun to be around and fun to date and ever since I have been aware of my attraction to women I have had a thing for Asian females! :p

Gordon Ramsey is technically Scottish but I think he acts more like an Englishman, they hate him up in the Highlands!

Forgot he was popular in the US or I would've listed him. :)

Just curious, has anyone here actually flown an airplane? Or is all this talk just from Wikipedia, Popular Mechanics magazine, and sitting around at lunch with your friends?

I take offense to this! I build model airplanes so of course I known all their specs. Additionally, I watch a lot of the History Channel! I am the closest thing to a pilot without being a pilot!

Nobody can doubt it is an amazing platform that will undoubtedly be effective. The cost-effectiveness however is just not practical. Like I said, a Ferrari will get you too and from the grocery store, in record time and be fun in the process. But it just doesn't make sense.

It is, but variety being the spice of life and all meaning the F-22 would be far more capable as a multi-role airframe rather than a single use, especially at the cost.

However, not trying to overdo it like they are with the F-35.

Given current threats and conflicts it isn't needed. And future worse case conflicts it's advantages will be limited to only certain distinct tactical situations. The vast majority if not all of it's intended uses can be accomplished with well designed strike packages at cheaper overall platform life cycle costs.

I've had four flights upon a passenger aircraft, and I have commandeered 25, 40, and 105 mm cannons on multiple strafing runs in Modern Warfare 3.
