Maurice Couch DL 74 6-2 305 6 RS JR
Jordan Williams DL 77 6-5 240 3 SO
Jacques Smith DL 74 6-2 255 5 JR
Marlon Walls DL 74 6-2 281 6 RS JR
Joseph Ayres DL 75 6-3 280 6 RS JR
Allan Carson DL 74 6-2 325 3 SO
Daniel Hood DL 76 6-4 293 6 RS JR
Corey Miller DL 75 6-3 265 5 JR
Willie Bohannon DL 74 6-2 254 8 RS SR
Steven Fowlkes DL 77 6-5 265 8 RS SR
Darrington Sentimore DL 75 6-3 273 6 RS JR
Gregory Clark DL 74 6-2 322 4 RS SO
Trevarris Saulsberry DL 77 6-5 280 2 RS FR
Trent Taylor DL 75 6-3 245 1 FR

IMHO - would look more like this.
4-3
Smith/Miller DE , McCullers/Hood DT, Carson/Couch DT, Sentimore/Williams DE
3-4
Williams/Smith DE, McCullers/Carson NT, Sentimore/Saulsberry DE

Having those line options are going to be huge.
Couple that with A.J. Johnson, Curt Maggitt, Christian Harris, Herman Lathers

I could also see Willie Bohannon, and Trent Taylor moving to OLB/DE hybrid back for depth.

Williams will not be a DE in a 3-4 look. Also, you are overlooking Couch, he will be one of our best DL

If that's his pic he doesn't look like he even needs pads, LOL.

He's obviously smart so if the O line doesn't work then switch him to D line and he'll draw double teams every play.

Coach this kid up fast and we could have 2 mountains on 1 of the lines.

I hope he becomes all SEC within 2 years.

I could move him but I may have to put my truck into 4 wheel drive.

VFL...GBO!!!

You are not wrong, however...

Remember this is not JUST going to Be 3-4 and 4-3
Williams would be a DE in a few formations in 3-4/5-2
When it’s the 3-4 giving the 5-2 look, then yes you want more mobile DE, and more mobile OLB

Those formations are most always ran on 3rd and long, because you know its 90% sure to be a pass play.
The Idea in those formations is to open running lanes. You want fast guys getting penetration into the line from at least 2 locations.
The ILB change to zone cover safeties, and the Safeties provide down field double team.
:peace2:

Couch BTW will be mostly 4-3 .. He was not forgotten, and will likely be a 3rd for NT if needed.

I was just meaning for a giant sized 4-3. I know who would play 4-3 and 3-4.

Sorry that was a bit off topic.
Mobley could likely fill in on the D line with a good year of development,

I like the 4th and short option for the big ole boys.
4th and short, true 5-2 line.
Couch, Mobley, McCullers, Carson, Hood - Wow , thats some kinda wall there.

By my calculation, that's 1,653 lbs of wall they'd have to deal with.

Yes, I believe that our strength coach could get some speed out of him. 3 year project then ready to go at nose tackle

He went to West High School in Knoxville and is currently a walk-on on academic scholarship. He does not count against the 85. Good player in HS probably won't be a factor at this level; not tall but thick. Good young man.

Bill Bates couldn't compete at this level, either.

And make it in the pros?

Pffft.

He's definitely not a "big round ball of pudding". He benches about 400 lbs. and squats well over 650 lbs.

Yeah, shouldn't have called him that. How do you know his bench and squat stats?

Anyone know the average bench and squat for sec offensive linemen?

Linebacker Nick Reveiz squated 640lbs and Jacques McClendon set a UT record with 645lbs bench press a few years back. For Nick's size thats impressive and 645lb bench is crazy.

I always like it when walk-ons get a starting job.... Now thts the stuff right there.... Reveiz... i think was one... and the stuff Jarone Toney did last year was worth mentioning

Parents who let their kids get fat should be punished

By whom? Hopefully not the State, which hasn't "pushed away from the table and tightened it's belt" in uhh forever? Just think of the absurd justice of the state or federal governments demanding that citizens discipline themselves and their offspring. JMO

By who? Don't we already have Obama trying to create a Nutritional Gestapo on the public schools system? No thanks. Can spank a kid. Can't let them have a soda for lunch or heaven forbid a PB & J Sam'ich.

Maybe you should be punished for letting your kids pick up foul language from you.

Back on topic...You gotta find some short yardage packages for this guy...next to Big Mac. Just hold up a poster of a Hardees ThickBurger Combo on the play, and have it ready if he makes the critical stop!!! :)
