Is your Vol Card "root against" list completely different in football and basketball?

I have to say I am obviously a huge tennessee vol football fan, BUT I am a UTC basketball fan more than Tennessee basketball. I still hope they win every game they play except when they play UTC. Even if it is for the national title (however unlikely that would be)

It's Urban and the fact that they were the ones who turned us/Bruce Pearl in after we beat them in the Sweet 16 in basketball (That happened the same timeframe that Tressel was lying to the NCAA, which was a bit of karma).

I root against all SEC schools in all sports, save for the good guys of course. Extra hate for Florida and Bama.

I can't stand Notre Dame, Penn State, USC, Michigan, Ohio State, and Duke. But I will still pull for them over SEC schools not in Tennessee Orange.

I went thru this dilemma yesterday. I had bought elite 8 tix in MSG a week before the brackets came out. Thought I was going to see Villanova and Duke (or maybe sell tickets for a nice profit!). When they went out, I was pulling for an all SEC game, which is what happened. I cheered for USC, and was a fake SC fan for the day (weird, but had to cheer for someone)because of my disdain for all things UF...football or basketball doesn't matter. BTW, USC fans out numbered, were louder and far more spirited than FL.

I will say that, though root against KY and FL in bball, the fact that three SEC E teams got to Elite 8 is generally good for SEC, and SEC E, from an exposure standpoint, where maybe recruits realize they can come to SEC and it's not second tier. Maybe SEC E can become the basketball version of SEC W in football?

Watching UK hoops fans and Bama football fans complain about officials is comedy gold at it finest.

It's like a friend of our family who married into more money than can be spent in many lifetimes sometimes complains about how unlucky he is. Cry me a river. :cray:

Basketball: lakers, Louisville, Uconn, Florida and Georgetown.

NASCAR: Joe Gibbs racing.

Baseball: Yankees, dodgers and anyone playing the Cubs.

I despise bama and ND in football. Dislike most other SEC teams and watching Vandy lose (especially to low-tier teams) takes me straight to my happy place.

As for BB, I don't care enough to like or dislike any of them.
