We will most likely have guys leave. Don't be surprised if we ask some recruits to look elsewhere, either.

There's going to be some attrition. And Bullock won't take a scholarship.

Yeah, this alreay happened with Cross. I don't seeing UT telling too many other current recruits to look elsewhere. That isn't something that bodes too well for future classes in my opinion. Maybe the staff will start telling several of the current commits they will have to grayshirt. Which willl cause some others to decommit. I also don't see too many transferring. Does anyone have any idea on who would be likely candidates to be told to transfer or transfer on their own free will?

Thanks, I didn't know this. That would put UT at 88. For converstaion sake, let's say UT signs 24. That puts UT at 92. Do y'all think there will be a total of 7 grayshirts/transfers?

Matt Milton, Zach Rogers, Nash Nance, and Raijon Neal have been reported as looking into it

Most of the insiders think we will sign a full twenty five. So yes the staff must feel that eight will transfer or grayshirt.

NMT, Nelson, Naz, Milton, Anderson, Pair, Gooch, Clark, and Jeffery. That's 9 I think that could transfer or not get renewed.

Doubt Rogers or Neal will be going anywhere.

My guess is that we will be just fine. Any recruit who is not healthy by fall will be grayshirted. I think Mitchell-Thornton is heading to med school, isnt he? Then there are some who may end up going somewhere they can play:

Oliver
Milton
Nelson
Jeffrey
Clark
Fowlkes
Marteze Jackson
G. King

I think we will be fine on numbers.

Ok, I didn't know a scholarship could be non renewed. How does that work?

All scholarships are one year right now and can simply not be renewed after any year IIRC. However, doesn't look good if you continuously do this, obviously.

I have this same question so many times I can't see straight but I want to understand.

The new rules were put in place to protect kids from signing and not having a scholarship because schools over signed. Is that correct?

If so grey shirting can not happen because the school cannot sign more players than they have spots available?.

The rule has ALWAYS been that scholarships are a one year only thing. This is both for the athletic purposes and for grades.

Cal at UK is the master of the 1/2 year scholarships.

Bullard was not counted in the 89.

Bullard doesn't have to get a scholarship. It is totally up to the staff. King (and maybe others) may be ruled medical casualties IMO.

The 25 limit isn't an issue for grayshirting for us. It's the 85 cap. If you have 65 kids on scholly and sign 25, then you have to find 5 schollies through attrition or grayshirting.

Either option will work for me. Nothing is in stone until signing day. If the players can change their minds the coaches can too.

Thanks for the answer. That makes sense but I have read schools can sign more than 25. I assume a team with 55 on scholarship could sign 30?
