I watched that play a couple dozen times. I swear it looks like voodoo Magic how it just jumped to the sideline.

Exceptionally good but not the best. The best one I remember right off hand was the Colquitt punt at Miami 2003.

I don't post often, but I tried to tell everyone he would be the punter when he walked on. I watched him in high school a lot. Most incredible leg I've ever seen. The football sounds like it's exploding coming off of his foot.

Trevor Daniel should be up for the Lou Groza award for sure.

I believe Lou Groza is for placekickers...

Daniels definitely should be considered for the Ray Guy award though.

Ray Guy was so good that he was selected in the first round of the NFL draft.

going to be the best punter we ever had in Knoxville? Right now I would have to say yes. That last punt tonight was simply one of the best punts I've ever seen.

You are correct! I yelled most of the day during the game but I was more vocal with his punt that went out at the end zone! What an amazing kick.. yes, luck had something to do with it but hey, he could have swiffed it and it went out at the 38 so..... AWESOME KICK!

Easy DD.....Tennessee is the home of the Colquitt family, all 3 of them. Trevor may well be the best punter in the SEC or even country right now, but he's got more work to do to unseat those guys.

ummm I always counted four Colquitt punters.

Daniels punt is the best I've ever seen.
He put some magic sauce on that ball!

You know Butch caught a Chubb when he saw it

Trevor Daniel is quite the story. Goes from a walk on in 2013 to becoming the team's starting punter and is now one of the best punters in the nation.

LOL Trevor Daniel is amazing and deserves every accolade showered on him! He's a fantastic weapon for us. However that punt at the end was pure luck! That ball took such a wonky bounce! I love Daniel but let's not pretend that ball went out of bounds at the one because of something he did.

So...if he shanked it, who's that on?

seriously????
Punters use direction of their kicks to gain advantage.
Yes the 90degrees angle English on the ball was accidental but he placed that ball in the corner 5 yards from the sideline.
He absolutely did everything physically possible to make that happen. Then its up to that odd shaped ball to do the rest.
It was perfect and miraculous at the same time.

Ray Guy was so good that he was selected in the first round of the NFL draft.

Ray Guy is also the only punter in the NFL Hall of Fame. He mastered the art of hang time. Before kickers just wanted to kick it as far as possible. He showed that it was better to have a ball stay in the air long enough for the coverage team to get down the field before the ball was caught.

More of a coverage issue than a punt issue from what I saw, but sometimes returners and blockers just make plays and score(not to mention the missed block in the back).

and they picked the flag up,the refs were pretty bad in this game

Trevor Daniel is going to be a great one,but he has a ways to go yet to be the best ever for the Vols, but he is working on it

and CBJ or somebody has to be one of the best ever kicking coaches
