Is this Tennessee team better than last year's team?

Simply, yes this team is better because they will continue to grow and IMO they look better than the team did at this point last year. Right now, this is the best defensive UT team in a long time. With Harris, Golden, Hall, and Maymon continuing to grow then you would have to think this team is going to be scary at the end of the year. If we win this Pitt game, it will put us in the top 5 in the polls with a team that lost it's best player:Chism and best playmaker: Prince. That is impressive.

Maze was way too streaky offensively. I like Goins/Golden better than Maze/Goins. Golden is a much better play maker than Maze ever was.

The Bobby Maze you watched and the Bobby Maze I watched must be two different people. Bobby averaged over 9 pts with an assist\turnover ratio of better than two. The guy was straight up effecient.

I agree that Maze was better offensively than Goins at this point. However, I still believe the combination of Goins/Golden is better than Maze/Goins. Golden is better at distributing the ball than either Maze or Goins and will only improve with more experience.

I think the increase in depth and another year of experience for those on the floor this year certainly opens the door to be a better team...but the proof of that possibility will come in how they handle the big games...and even losses and the mindset and chemistry they have going down the stretch....certainly the potential is there once again...

I have to say it's to early to tell. I think Tobias is easily the most polished Freshman we've had in the Pearl era without a doubt. Scotty is better than he was last year. the bench is better this year also. But you can not underestimate the true importance of the Senior leadership we had last year.

I think if Hopson and Harris can continue averaging 16 ppg apiece, this team will be better that last year's.
