Is this realistic?

the other thing to consider (as homerish as this is to say) is that if tennessee gets bombed by florida, they will have company.

in 2008, florida beat fsu by 30, uga by 39, sc by 50, ky by over 50, lsu by 30.

all those teams went to bowl games. florida beat georgia by 39 and georgia won 10 games.

if tennessee gets blown out, it may not necessarily mean that tennessee's really bad, but rather florida is damn good.

You actually make a relatively good point. Also don't forget that WE didn't get beat by that much last year. Says a little something for our D

The reason this story wasn't realistic is because there wasn't a South Carolina player pumping your gas. And we will probably lose by more than 7, too.

I'd say there is a better chance of rex never having another post talking up Florida than there is of UT keeping that game within a touchdown.

Seriously Rex. I haven't been following for too long, but from most of your posts it seems you are a closet Florida fan. Honestly, are you? I mean, you probably root for UT over UF, but I bet you root for UF any other time.

WR - Worst group in my memory at UT,I'm 54.

Man, you must have not seen the 2007 season, there was no talent at WR that year, until Denarious Moore and Gerald Jones were discovered late in the season. This crew could be OK, not great, but OK. Also, 2002 was maybe the worst ever, even worse than 2007.

I don't think this year would have been so bad for UT if they didn't lose their most experienced WR and had attrition on the OL. Both are contributing factors that may lead to a less than stellar season. Hell, UT could surprise everyone and still do really well...

Lucas Taylor would be the key to our season? Really? Also, your UT friend was more than a little off. For example, it's funny how Wes Brown is our only proven DT when he just got moved there, while returning starter and better player Dan Williams is not. And we are wayy better at run blocking than pass blocking

Not my friend. I got that off of the scout board.

Didn't Taylor lead the SEC in 2007? I know he had over 1000 yds.

I agree. As much as it pains me to say it, I don't see UF losing all year. However, I do see at least one game being close. I don't know who will do it, but I hope it's UT. I don't think UF will score a ton on us, but I wouldn't be surprised if our offense doesn't score at all.

I have to say, this is a sad group of Vol "Observers" who don't want to go out on a limb and have faith that good can triumph over evil. If you have ever been to a game in the Swamp you know of what I speak. Where's the pride Orange? Be a little less Billy Bob Thornton and a little more Fess Parker. Go Vols.

Since I flunked clairvoyance 101 I'm not going to make any predictions. But in response to the shreiking gator fan I would just simply say "Hey dude, why don't you just :biteme:" and go on about my business.

So I stopped at the gas station on my way home today, and some obnoxious gator fan started screaming at me and doing that retarded clap thing they do. Anyway, I said "just wait till Sept 19, I'm not gonna say we'll beat Florida, but you give UT 7 points and I'd bet on us all week and twice on Sunday."

Now, I truly believe that. I really think we'll keep it close with UF. Am I just drinking the koolaid or can we really do this?

Did you tell the guy to go #### himself? I would have.

I don't post often because I like to listen more than talk but one thing comes to mind that I would like to say.

I think to many fans are suffering from the same thing our players suffered from last year.... Phil Fulmer syndrome. Give up before the game is played and go in thinking "Just don't be aggressive and try not to get beat to bad!"

Are we going to win? Don't know but I think the score is 0 - 0 so go in smack em in the mouth and see what happens. If we get beat then man up and say they are the better team but don't go in like a whipped dog before the game is played.........fan or players!:banghead2::boxing2:

Here is the game this reminds me of. I was in Athens when the gameday crew said in 1998 the question after UGA beat LSU is which Georgia player would win the Heisman, Champ Bailey or Quincy Carter. TN had no chance because Lewis was out following the Auburn ACL tear. That is the loudest I have ever heard the stadium in Athens. They started off driving down the field and then Carter got intercepted in the end zone. That was a HUGE momentum swing and UGA got quiet as TN dominated the rest of the day on the way to a 22-3 victory. It was an awesome game.

I think TN could beat Florida. I definitely think the game will be close. There is no way they will be mentally defeated. Our offense will pick up first downs running the ball and that will give our defense enough rest to attack UF like the stolen ATM card belonged to their dead grandmother.

Ole Miss was supposed to get killed in Gainesville last year too.

Ole Miss actually had a good offense though. We don't know yet what our offense will be able to do. I wouldn't count on it being as good as that Ole Miss team.

It didn't hurt the Rebels' cause that the Gators turn the ball over more than a couple times as well.
