Is there REALLY a BIG Orange Curse????

There is a guy who called into Dearstone a few years back and put a curse on Tennessee athletics because Dearstone pulled Jim Rome off the air in Knoxville. I can't remember his name but I've heard him call Basilio and AA recently.

If we are counting the last 12 months then you can pretty much add in the LSU ending last year.

Seriously, you don't see Lattimore, Jeffrey, Richardson, Murray, Rainey, etc going down for any significant time. Yet we we lose Hunter for the season, Bray is out for half the season just in time for our toughest stretch, Lathers is out half the season, and Jackson is kicked off the team before the season even starts. It is almost comical at this point.

Here we are 13 years after winning the National Championship going 13-0 on the season. In the game against Florida we lose our best athlete who gets replaced by a freshman wearing the number 13. 2 games later we lose our starting QB and RB, further proving the curse of 13 years. Lets not forget last year we had 13 players on the field for the last play against LSU, erasing an epic win. maybe I'm just finding excuses but i just don't like the number 13 anymore, Hope arnett changes my mind!

there is no such thing as a curse.if there was. the team that was cursed would never win anything ever because, how can you reverse a curse in the first place, if there was a such thing? thats silly.

I'm good. Back at my old job, thank goodness. I don't know if I would make it through this season otherwise.

i take it that it's much easier to get to knoxville for games. how's the hubby?

and to stay on topic....do you think there is a curse across the state of Tennessee? Fulmer curse? curseofthecatfish? Big Orange Voodoo Curse? ect....??

The other job started calling work every Saturday. We just can't have that. And hubby's doing good! Thanks for asking!

As for the curse, I think too many special things were being taken for granted. Once we show proper appreciation for the gift of being a Vol fan, and all that comes with it, the clouds will part and it will once again be an orange colored day in Neyland. Go Vols.

We can't have that....as long as you are happy.

I don't think it's the fans that need to show the proper appreciation. I think we already do, VN is the minority when it comes to fans opinions (i'm talking about the negative threads and posts day-after-day-after-day-after-day-after-day). We need to stop making excuses, staff and players included.

We lost to a good Georgia team this weekend. The fans had nothing to do with the play on the field. We simply did not play to our ability as a football team and we were out-coached in a bad way. When are we going to finally break the 'curse' and win a game against a team we are not suppose to beat??....I like to think it's this weekend. LSU is beatable and it's, once again, time for Dooley and the Vols to prove that it can be done.

That was a great pep talk!! We're gonna get drilled Saturday, but I'm ready for it now. It looked like we weren't gonna be there for a few days and I was actually relieved. Then I find out plans changed and we WILL be there! So at this point I'm just hoping the tigers get food poisioning.

make it look like an accident....i like where you're head is at.

the only chance for us to even have an opportunity to win is for a completely different team to show up Saturday. something has to change and it needs to happen yesterday.

In both locker rooms, imo.

ha ha....good point. I sure do hate having this mentality that the other team needs to have an off day for us to win.

Our best could have beaten UGA and UF, our best can't beat LSU...not this year. Not trying to be negative because I think we will surprise some people after this 3 game stretch of pure hell of a schedule, but the Vols just don't have a shot on a bad day from LSU...simply that good.
