God I wish people would just freaking stop already. We aren’t getting Freeze or Meyer. We are stuck with Pruitt at least until next year. Then if we fire him, it will be another coordinator hire.

Yea that is the sad reality of all this pie in the sky stuff. Every single coach on the planet could be bought. Hell Tennessee could have Saban next year. But there is noooo money. Looks like Tennessee will fall further into a hole. Recruiting will be terrible next year with Pruitt. Any player worth a crap will transfer. Buckle up....

Someone get this man some Zoloft. Honestly, Zoloft should be the official sponsor of Tennessee football

Fulmer would never hire Meyer. Fulmer has always been jealous of Meyer's success. Back when all the fuss was about Meyer and his "spread option" offense Fulmer was quoted as saying, "he didn't reinvent football". Fulmer would never hire anyone who has achieved more coaching football than he has.
None of that matters anyway because Meyer isn't entertaining Tennessee in the least.

He's not coming here and I don't want to cheer for a team he's leading anyhow

He would come here if the money was right.

Urban didn't have anything to do with him being fired except maybe beating the living hell out of him a couple of times....I would love Urban to come to UT but I just don't see UT putting out that kind of money...They prefer to play it cheap and hope for the best all while ranking in the money until that coach starts losing and the process begins all over again...We are a laughing stock of college football.

Well we may not have to put out much more money than we have in the recent past, paying fired coaches and the current coach at the same time. Counts up to a pretty good salary. What is Pruitt getting 4 mill. a year, and how much we paying butch??

Thats not why Fulmer would say no to him

Fulmer will NOT let someone come in hes threatened by and potentially show there a better coach
This is complete crap. If Fulmer hires a coach in a different era of CFB that succeeds it’s a direct indictment of his ability to go get a coach. The HC success is his as well.

It will take something like this.

He thinks it's a good job.

Tennessee football: Urban Meyer calls Vols top 10 job in America

Nah, he isn’t going anywhere. His coming out of retirement once made sense. Not twice. Certainly not for the clown show that we are.

This crap happens every year. We do fairly well one year and then boosters pressure our coaches to make replacements.

I can’t help but wonder if Rocker’s firing was due to pressure from boosters and if it played into Fitz’ decision to leave. It was about a month apart that it happened.

We were 8-5 before we parted ways with Rocker. The guys we had exceeded expectations. Next, we fire the DL coach mid season when O is clearly our problem. Now some of them want Pruitt AND Fulmer gone. Incredible!

Pointless.

It would take more than money. It would take all the powers being serious about winning football again.

When and if Pruitt is let go the question is not who "should UT hire" but who "will UT hire". I dont have faith in football hires anymore.

When Fuller got the AD job he indicated it would be short term and his contract ends next year. IF he was serious about it being short term, I imagine he would want to let the next AD to make any coaching decisions.
All this speculation about coaches might be fun but it is very premature IMO.
