Not meaning the attitude and off the field issues. Talent wise who could be our closest thing to Jackson talent wise at safety? McNeil? Randolph? Moore? Hard to say I know but thats what we need. Janzen was a stud immediately as a freshman in 2009. Doubt Moore or Randolph are or we'd have seen it already. Maybe one of our new recruits??

I think Randolph played better as a Fr than JJ when you factor out Berry. He had 55 tackles compared to 37 for JJ in much less PT. He was seldom out of position and learned very quickly.

JJ had better speed but BR is a little bigger than he was as a FR.

Athletic talent? No. Playing skill? I think there's an argument.

I truly think j. jackson realized he made a big mistake by leaving ut... wish he get his life together and the best of luck to him...

JJ was a great player, but he reaped the benefit of playing with Berry his freshman year. With qbs afraid to throw in Berry's direction, JJ got a lot of chances to make plays. That is not a slight against JJ, he was gonna be a stud no matter what. But it's hard to look bad when you're playing next to the best DB to ever suit up for UT.

JJ was a stud he would knock part of your anatomy off if given a chance. We have no one so far that approaches that

JJ was a stud whether Berry was on the team or not. Monte had Berry almost playing linebacker. JJ had a lot of responsibility as a freshman and he was far and away our best defender his sophomore year.

Talent wise, Jackson is a once every decade kind of player. We don't have anyone like him .

Sad story concerning JJ. If he had just bit the bullet and acted right while at UT, he could have signed for the big bucks and would have been set for life.

He still may......we will see.

This... I believe Brian was a better player as a freshman than jj. He hits like a Mac truck and forced a couple of fumbles. I'm real excited about his potential. Plus he's a high character guy. No gas station robberies during his freshman campaign

Jj has talent, yes. But a once in a decade player? No. Eric berry was a once in a decade player. Deon grant was better than jj and won a nc. And for us old timers roland james was as good as it gets. A similar player to eb and played when ut wasnt great or on tv every week. Heavy hitter, roamed the field, and played multiple yrs for the patriots. Jj could have been an all conf player, he just never got it together. It happens all the time to kids. Unfortunate.
