None of your points were clear on the call.

edit: just so you know "I could care less" implies that you do care. And it is obvious you care wayyy too much, you need to let it go.

This is beginning to be the Twilight Zone. I responded to someone who write I said ridiculous things about Derek Barnett -- when I never have.

Now it's gone into another dimension just like me telling Swain why take Garrett off in place of Barnett with Jordan Jenkins holding a spot.

But you know what, you got it bro. I'm done.

1. Thank You

2. I do

3. It's a tribute to my mother's side of the family and a way to honor her and my deceased father -- it's short for Murphy, which I'm sure anyone could've gotten who didn't just want to hate.

But hey, do your thing man.

Nice job throwing in the sympathy vote even though your father had nothing to do with your name.

Look dude, you started something and got owned. You came here to keep proving your point and no one wants to listen to you here either. Go try to keep your drama going somewhere else.....it's not wanted to needed here.

I really enjoy your stuff murf and the back and forth with swain was fantastic, best segment Ive heard on the show in 3 months, but dang man its a Tennessee show with a VFL of course hes a homer and hes our guy so we are going to take his side relax man your letting a bunch of fans who are not unbiased get under your skin

by the way garrett cant hold Barnetts jock:thumbsup:

Thanks, bro. I'm not letting anyone get under my skin. I just didn't like reading that I said something ridiculous about Barnett -- which was a complete lie. Anything else is just extra.

And if you feel he can't hold Barnett's jock, that's cool. But if you feel he didn't deserve one of the two slots on the All-Sec team, I'm lost....haha

Lol now you're going to tell me what my name has to do with? As if I didn't make it up?? My god.

It connects my father to my mother. Murphy and Baldwin are their family names. My first name isn't actually Murf or Murphy.

And I think you should just ignore me like I'm about to do you. Trying to diss me on a message board with an anonymous name sums up this whole "drama."

Peace, man.

You tried to argue that Barnett did not have a better season than Garrett and dismiss the fact that Barnett did it against better competition. That is ridiculous!

I have to be honest I dont really watch ATM so i really have no clue how good garrett is murf, but because of this I will

Yeah and then he randomly started mentioning Jenkins when he realized that he was losing. Whoever pointed out that murf is thin skinned is completely right. Butt hurt is high with this guy

That wasn't the issue. From Swains perspective, Barnett had a better year than Garrett. Garrett may be better in the future. I think you should watch more of last season's tape to get Swain's argument.

^^This^^ Also, look at the tackles they went up against and which teams/tackles they racked up stats against.

HELL YES! Ainge truly has a natural gift when it comes to radio. If he can keep the middle school humor in check, he could have a bright future in sports radio. His game breakdowns are second to none.

Does RTI have a download able app?

Don't stress these folks man. Whether DB or MG are 1a or 1b they're still ahead of Jenkins. I get the point you're making.

But if people want to argue who is better between the top 2 guys it's going to be hard to tell a difference. As a UT fan I want DB to be the best. He led the SEC in TFL in SEC games and he had I believe all of his sacks against SEC teams while MG had all of his against teams outside of the SEC.

But it remains that both are better thank Jenkins and deserve to be 1st team.

You're a professional...this should be old hat for you. TBH a lot of seemingly intelligent posters with a ton of knowledge get run off of here...part of the fun. :). Hope you hang around bro.

I completely understand where you're coming from and commend you for getting the crux of my point.

However, way too much misinformation out there. I'm all for everyone watching every team and formulating opinions from a position of power and knowledge.

Garrett had a sack against South Carolina, Ole Miss and Mississippi State -- all SEC teams... He got a concussion in the Auburn game and missed a lot of that tilt -- he left in the 2nd quarter -- and the ENTIRE next game against Mizzou.

Garrett failed to generate a sack against Arkansas (Dan Skipper), Alabama (Cam Robinson) and LSU (La'el Collins). (He also failed to generate one against SMU).

Garrett recorded a sack in 7 out of the 11 complete games he played.

While Barnett did, in fact, make all of his hay against SEC squads -- 8 sacks came against three teams: Kentucky (??), Ole Miss (Tunsil) and South Carolina (Corey Robinson) -- one coming against Vandy and Florida (Humphries), respectively.

He, Barnett, did not generate a sack against Georgia, Alabama (Robinson) or Missouri. In fact, Barnett didn't record a sack in 8 out of 13 games. Additionally, he didn't generate any against Utah State, Arkansas State, Chattanooga and Iowa (Scherff).

He, Barnett, was clearly held in the Iowa game and plenty of others -- but the same could be said for Garrett against a few teams as well.

https://www.facebook.com/SaturdayDownSouth.TAMU/posts/741426192615625 <---- A&M fans crying about Myles being held in his short time in the Auburn game.

http://gifphobia.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/TexasAMMylesGarrettAuburnHold.gif <---look at this egregious hold...But somebody like Swain thinks his guy is the only one getting held because he has no knowledge of the other subject...

So, as you can see, the full context of the situation was never presented -- which is to be expected as we're talking about a UT radio show with UT hosts etc.

Barnett -- 10 sacks -- was very explosive but was also very spotty. He balled out against really good competition but not as consistently as one might expect. But hey -- HE WAS A FRIGGIN TRUE FRESHMAN...

Garrett -- 11.5 sacks -- wasn't as explosive, in SEC play, but he was very consistent in SEC play and in pretty much every game he played in regardless of competition. But he was a true freshman.

How come nobody ever raised the question why Barnett failed to chart against weaker competition? Because he's getting hometown love -- which is to be expected.

And how come nobody questioned why Jordan Jenkins made the first team over him with 5 sacks -- two coming against Charleston Southern and Troy -- when he's not close to being the best player on his own defense and was a JUNIOR!!

Not one person rooting for A&M thinks Barnett had a better season just like not one member of Vol Nation thinks Garrett had a better season.

But everybody in Georgia would trade Jenkins for either... Well, if they were being honest...haha

Future is bright for both and they will more than likely both make the actual SEC first-team.

Actually, no. The language has evolved so that "I could care less" and "I couldn't care less" mean exactly the same thing. Like "flammable" and "inflammable" mean exactly the same thing. They're called idiomatic expressions.

The evolution of idioms in a language doesn't have to make sense. You can diagram "I could care less" logically all day to try to prove your point, but that's not how idiomatic expressions work.

The idoms don't have to be logical, but one's use of them should. Particularly if one is correcting someone else who is already using them correctly. :)

Yeah I agree about some things but you said not everything is being presented so lets look at the things you left out. So out of DB9 sacks 8 came against SEC teams. MG only 3 out of 11. DB9 had about 20 more tackles and about 8 more TFL. Also DB9 was playing with a bad shoulder several games. Also DB9 led the SEC in TFL in league play.

While I agree that it's hard to pick which is a better player I think it's fairly easy to say that DB9 had a more productive freshman year.
