Is the program done for good

How do we turn it around? Ask guys like Majors and Saban who both engineered huge SEC rebuilds. You’ve got to be feared and respected by your players by being tough enough to get in their grills and hold them accountable for their performance and mistakes. If you accept mediocrity you’ll get it.

Pruitt apparently is a players coach. If that’s true he either changes his approach and gets tough or he’s done here. Dead man walking if he doesn’t get it
Majors engineers a massive rebuild? Lol. Should’ve been fired after year 4. Only took him 13 years to finally get it right at Tennessee, might as well give Pruitt that much time, no?

UT needs to throw some big money at Peyton in a couple of years to take over the program

No.

They just need to make ONE change for now.
That's it!

It's a misfit team that has nothing to galvanize it right now. Callaway and Jennings are ready! So Dom Wood Anderson. The O-line was fine.

Need the offense to protect the defense by keeping longer possesions. We should have blown out Ga State. You saw glimpses of us running away in 1st half.

The defense will improve if they aren't out there every 2 minutes.

Sorry but I completely disagree. Majors is under appreciated for the bottom feeder he inherited and for his toughness and determination in turning it around. He may have been deeply flawed and he held on too long but nobody other than Majors IMO could have fixed the decimated TN program he inherited from Battle.

Did you live thru that era and see it firsthand? If not I did. If so we’ll just agree to disagree.

We have a HC interested in cashing in on the coaching money machine, and a phlegmatic AD who is finally cashing in somewhat since he missed the big $$$ the first time.

This ain't getting fixed with this crew.

No. It only takes a real HC and it could rebound quickly. But, we need to follow the Alabama model and pay to hire a big time coach next season.

As much as I love my Vols and as much as I'm embarrassed and pissed about today I've gotta say we have the worse "fans" in the country.
Dunce post of the year. Blaming the fans for incompetence of the program is about as ignorant thinking there could be.

I have seen too many 100,000 seats filled with those fans you are blaming to watch an inferior product on the field. Try running a program without them.

Only way of fixing this is offering a high profile coach a s***load of money. And even then you run into the issue of finding a high profile coach that would even want to come to Tennessee. But, money does talk. Think about all the money over the past 10 years they paid coaches and are STILL paying coaches. Would’ve saved money by making the right hire in the first place.

I think Pruitt should be featured on a new ATT commercial. “Just okay is not okay.”

Coach Pruitt how do you think the team will do this season?”

“Uh, we will be okay.”

How does this get fixed I know there is alot of threads but UT football means to much to me. Do we get rid of Pruitt and go try to hire a top guy cuz I don't think they will come
Program isn’t done for good but Pruitt is.. the guy had no track record as a head coach, he couldn’t afford this... the smart thing to do would be to just cut ties immediately. That won’t happen though so welcome to more years of purgatory before we even attempt to climb out of the abyss. Of course what’s the point anymore, UT admin never seems to learn from their mistakes anyway.

Majors walked into a program that was completely devoid of talent. We were lucky that we had one offensive lineman of 240 pounds his first year. Battle thought that Mickey Marvin was too big and made him lose weight.

I know it’s been said, but I never really got it until today. We have simply become the 1980s-2000s Vanderbilt before Franklin got there. No one expects us to beat them. Period. Gonna be embarrassing to only house 40-50k a game in a stadium that holds 102k. If decommits start happening, fans stop showing up, what’s gonna keep this program from shutting it down ?
