Why did you have to bring it up? Seriously though, we'll be laughing after we put a beatdown on them in TBA this year.

no, that isn't funny, we'll never look back on that and laugh because we'll never have a better shot at a Final 4run that last season.

i beg to differ

we may have better teams in the future, but with the road we could have had, beating OSU, playing a team we had already destroyed in Memphis, then getting to the Final Four to play a slow Georgetown team, and then Florida in the finals... yeah we may have a much better and more experienced team next year, but being the underdog like last year, we can sneak up on people. Our road last year was set up nicely, who knows if that will ever happen again. Plus, we were playing our best in the tournament, and that rarely happens.

Exactly how were we going to sneak up on Memphis in the regional final?

well its possible we could have lost to Memphis if we would have had a cold shooting or just shot average because we shot lights out against MEmphis earlier in the season in Knoxville so that was the reason we won by 18 points... and Georgetown may be slow but they would have killed us inside, u think we had trouble against sesquatch imagine what the lochness monster would have done... and then Florida was also playing their best in the tourney and plus the already had too much experience and were determined so i dont think our road was as easy as u may think...

like I said, we were playing our best in the tournament last year and hadn't had a cold shooting night yet, so having one against Memphis was unlikely. Georgetown was worse inside that OSU was, and we almost beat them twice, and their big man was not, and is not, as good as Oden. We did ok against Oden both times, so our chances against Hibbert were good. Yeah Florida was playing very good at the time too, but like I said, our chances to make a Final Four run will never be that good.

Still 100% incorrect. Who did Ohio State have that was as good as Jeff Green? What did we shoot in the second half against Ohio State?

um, Ron Lewis played pretty darn good, Mike Conley was a very good player, both of those I would put up against Jeff Green. We shot horribly in the 2nd half vs. OSU, yes, I know that, but we were talking about whether that is funny now, and it's not, b/c if that hadn't happeened our chances for a deep run were incredible.

Usually posts like these are false because of that one word. :good!:

UT will make it to the Final 4.
Whether it be next year, or 50 years from now, we don't know.

I will say though, we will have a better chance in the next 3 years than we have had in a very long time.

Both being perimeter players, whereas Green did a great deal of his damage inside, so its like comparing apples to aardvarks. Also, Tennessee shot 40.7% against Virginia. If they shot that against a bad defensive team, it's not unlikely they would have had similar results against Memphis. Further, do you actually think Memphis would have shot 28.6% from the field and 17.9% from 3 in a rematch?

i think this year's team can get to the final four.

i'm not saying they can't get to the Final 4, they definitely can, but what i am saying is their setup getting to the final 4 will never be as nicely setup as it was last season, all the wihle playing their best basketball all season long.

You should check out the paths some of the top seeds had to take to get to the Final Four last season. If UT manages to pull out a 1 or a 2 seed, I'd be willing to bet we'll have an easier road ahead of us.

can someone explain to me how we were playing our best basketball while shooting free throws like a 6th grade team and Chism hurt?

All that said we still should have beaten the Bucks. I'm still shaking my head over the call to send Conley to the line with 6 seconds left......

Next years squad will be a better team from top to bottom. If Prince is as good as advertised and T.Smith wins his hardship....a number 1 -3 seed is not out of the question.

We are getting better with each season.
