I'm listening to a local show and the conversation came up that Tennessee has had the least success out of all the teams in the 4 major sports.

The criteria was

Win 10 games in one season in football

Make a mens Final 4

Make a womens Final 4

Make the CWS

Tennessee is the only school to have not accomplished any of these since 2009, is this right?

Not sure on the answer to your question, but I had a similar train of thought last night.

I feel like every other SEC has won an SEC title or at least played for one in at least one of the big 3 men's sports since our last (b-ball 2008), not sure if I'm right.

I have no idea if those stats are accurate from 2009, but in the last decade or so it's been pretty apparent that we are not keeping up with other SEC programs.

Of course we hang our hat on football and women's basketball, but a lot of other SEC programs are solid across the board in all sports. Florida, Georgia, LSU, Alabama, and others are always doing really well and competing for championships in multiple sports. It makes me sick. Meanwhile on Rocky Top, it seems our programs are always struggling to take it to the next level and when they are in a position to actually achieve something we choke.

Regardless, I love Tennessee. The heart wants what it wants. Go Vols!

I'm Rick Harrison, and this is my pawn shop. I work here with my old man and my son, Big Hoss. Everything in here has a story and a price. One thing I've learned after 21 years - you never know what is gonna come through that door.

Sad, but true.

Now, if you added the CWS for softball, Tennessee saves face a little with appearances in 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2015.

Not sure if correct but look no farther than our big donor if it is.

Our Administration has successfully institutionalized apathy. It's almost like mediocrity has become a key point of the mission statement.

Love how when you want to make a STATEMENT about something Without actually making the Statement, just put it in the form of a question!

Example:

"Is D4H REALLY a Colossal Asshat Doucher Troll??":blink:

You get what you pay for. The athletic department has had a mid major mentality since the days of Mid Major Mike Hamilton. Since 2009, we've kept coaches too long, not given the financial resources to coaches to compete, and hired from the bargain bin all to save a buck. It has not worked.

As much as I hate the saying, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result....yet, we keep a WBB coach that has been passed by programs such as Louisville, etc.

We've got 5* expectations with a 2* spending gameplan

So this list could be covered by 4 teams in the last 7 years?

So it's also theoretically possible to win the SEC championship in FB every one of those years and not make that list?
