Well you can look at it a few different ways. The obvious is 2-4, 0-3. Which puts them at the bottom. Then you could also say that Tennessee really could be 1-5 if UAB could hit a FG. Or they could be 3-3 and 1-2 if they dint run those 2 guys back out on the field in death valley. But they way I will look at it is this. Could vandy, kentucky, miss state, ole miss or georgia, be tied with oregon in the 2nd half, tied with florida in the 2nd half and then lose like that to LSU. I submit to you that there is no possible way that vandy would be in that position in any of the 3 games. Kentucky? I could see them being in 1 of the 3, you can make an argument that what they did against Auburn was more impressive than what we did against LSU. But all 3? NO. Could Miss State do it. Maybe, Ole Miss, doubtful, Georgia, I think so but i wouldnt bet on it. But the thing is you cant have it both ways. If we have no talent and terrible depth, the coaching job has not been bad. Did I think we were better? yes, and who knows if we beat LSU we might have been, but as it stands we arent that good and its not the coaches fault.

Pretty sad when you have to look at it from a couple different directions to come up with an argument that we aren't last. It is what it is.

We are last, even if we beat somebody like Kentucky or Vandy. They expect to be horrible. When somebody like Tennessee is, it's just plain sad and yes, even more pathetic.

It's been a tough few years for us.
Hopefully we'll turn it around in a couple.

There are no guaranteed wins on the schdule. After two more trips to the woodshed, it's going to take a monumental effort by the coaches just to keep the team from checking out. I think that we need to assume there will not be a bowl game this season and take each of the next six games one at a time.

Uhh expectations and the worst team are 2 separate things.

Unfortunately, as seen in the UGA game, I fear our players have already "Checked out".

Don't count Georgia out yet. They only have one win so far. Actually you can debate it right now but until all the games are played you won't know. UK has to prove they can beat UT which even though UT has been down for several years now, they still can't. Ole Miss is capable of losing to anybody. Jacksonville St? Vandy is Vandy.

Whoa. We had no idea that you can't bank the outcomes until the games are actually played. Thank goodness you arrived here to set all the Vols straight.

UT is better than vandy and ole miss. Maybe even with UK right now.

Well, facts would indicate that Miss. and Ky have good offenses and are poor defensively. Vandy is poor on offense and adequate on defense. We are poor on both offense and defense. Therefore, we are obviously better than the last three teams on our schedule?

Duh !!!

My wild azzed guess is they win one more game (Memphis) unless they start playing Tyler Bray immediately and then they might have a slim chance against Ole Miss, Vandy and Kentucky.

We have to beat Memphis and Vandy to be state champs. MTSU thought they would be the best team in the state but they lost to Memphis.

I stopped reading when you mentioned being tied in the second half as a way to measure teams.

It is all about W's and L's....fair or not, that's unfortunately the way it is. Moral Victories are just losses. This year should be a gimmee for Dooley, but next year his head will be on the block if it is similar to this year.

I see next year as being 2010 V2.0. No real improvement on the horizon until 2012 unless the rest of the SEC just get inexplicably bad.

Dooley should get at least through 2013 before a change is considered. He inherited a bare cupboard from fulmer/kiffin.
