Is Tennessee a career killer?

You act like he went around sleeping with every random coed. He had a relationship with another grown woman who was an employee not a student. Affairs are morally wrong but it's also not our place to make that judgement. Personal life is perosnal life. Btw I'm also an alum and donor and would have no problem hiring Petrino.

If you're in the position that he held, then it is the general public's "place" to judge. He's in charge of a bevy of individuals...salaries,educations and resumes were affected by his actions.

Don't get me wrong VR, I like Cut too. However it took him 5 years to get Duke to a bowl game. Takes time to turn a program around.

Agree 100%

I'm positive Butch will get this turned around. It's just going to take time. Which was the whole point of the thread.

Reverse psychology, I'm very sneaky.

It's a frustrating job for anyone right now. When the line don't run block well, you are left with throwing the ball. When you become one dimensional, no Oline can pass block vs what they get thrown at em at that point. I've said this many times before, the line is the engine. It doesn't matter how good the car looks or how many nice features it has, it will not run consistently. People keep saying, I don't know what the oc is trying to achieve out there on offense. I've seen screens, quick passes, draws, sweeps, reverses, rollout passes, etc. All of those things help your line out. I think they are just trying to grasp at anything they can to make it work. I feel sorry for the staff. I'm not saying that they are great or horrible at this point. No staff could make our offense consistent right now. I just wish the impatient fan base would realize this, and give them time so we can then judge them fairly.

Agreed.

But just for fun... Fahr Butch!

Whether you want to admit it or not kiffin was a good hire and would have won here.

Kiffin is a fratboy punk who does'nt know how to be in charge because he is'nt a man. Kiffin was a TERRIBLE hire. He had'nt done anything as a HC to that point, and he still has'nt. And look where he is now. Working for Napolean and getting his ear hair singed. He married out of his league and he's so far had job's out of his league. He's a punk.

I really like CBJ and I think he is a great coach who gets the most out of his players. With that being said is Tennessee football just to big? Is there any coach that could come here and satisfy this fan bases win now attitude or would any coach suffer the same fate as Fulmer, (to a lesser extent) Dooley and CBJ who seems to be the next to fall to this win hungry fan base.

Aside from Saban and the almighty Hugh Freeze, who could come in and win now with our current roster?

Not Bear Bryant....not Nick Daban..... Not General Neyland....you get the idea

For all our QB does or doesn't do or is unable to do because of very little or no protection, do we really need a QB? Why don't we try running a Wishbone, where the QB passes only as an extra added attraction! Put Ethan Wolfe in one half back position and Daniel Helm in the other and Jalen Hurd in the Tailback position and Joshua Dobbs in the QB position. The Halfbacks could be used primarily as blockers for the Tailback or QB or an occasional handoff or pass. After all, Tennessee has never been capable of dealing with a Wishbone or Triple Option from the Defensive side of the ball. A lot of schools use the Wishbone or Triple Option because they aren't very adept at catching the football and have a mobile QB, who is very good at running with the football or handing it off.

Let's hire Moses.

If he can part the Red Sea, he can make a hole big enough for our running backs.

Somebody get to work on that. Right away!!

I vote we hire Jon Voights' character from Varsity Blues.

That guy won a lot of football games in that movie.

Or maybe an actual person could do a better job. I just don't know anymore.
