Is Scott Frost qualified?

Unfortunately he will kick UTs ass for 10 more years once he gets to UF. If he goes to NE he will likely become a hero there. He will not be UTs coach though. Vols don't have what it takes to make this happen......which means out bid for him in a major way. Like seriously out bid them and go really big time. Little boy football isn't gonna work any longer......

Wait and see. You obviously know as little as the rest of us.

Agreed.

But I would bet Frost would value Florida & Nebraska jobs over Tennessee.

Would be huge if Tennessee could get. But Florida is top 4 job nationally and Nebraska is his home

Yep, and if you’re choosing between the Florida and Tennessee jobs, it’s a no-brainer....you choose UF 100 out of 100 times

Our own fan base seems to undervalue the open position. Is your quote just referring to Frost. Or, do you mean any coach would just Fl over Tn 100 out of 100 times. Way undersells Tn.

If Tennessee is committed to getting him, I believe they could. You never know, he may not view Nebraska as his dream job. He may be interested in coaching in the SEC, and if he is, he may view Tennessee as a place to create his legacy. I really question whether Florida is as an attractive job by the coaching community as maybe a few years back. I also don't buy the so called recruiting advantage at Florida. There is much more recruiting competition in the State of Florida today than ever before.

Tennessee would need to close hard on him to get him ,that I won't deny.

I think Tennessee regression is so deep the Frosty up and comers can lead Tennessee out of the hole. I like Willie Taggart and Matt Campbell also. It’s going to take time with the right person leading.

The guy has coached 2 seasons has he not? How can you conclude he can compete with Alabama?

I've watched UCF play, researched his background and like his approach of working with his players.

Ultra competitive and very smart.

Interesting too, he was the scout team option QB, helmet and shoulder pads, when preparing for Navy earlier this year. He probably could dress out and play right now.

Most important, you really don't want him in Gainesville.

Butch competed with Alabama in 2015.

Get a real football coach in here with good players and we will compete with Bama.

And again, I ask, how can we conclude that 2 seasons in a non power 5 conference equals that? I thought we didnt want to gamble anymore?

Gamble? Every option has a level of risk. Frost, in my opinion, has no more risk associated with his propensity to succeed at Tennessee than any other candidate other than Peterson. Assuming Peterson is a candidate.

I just watched a college football game that felt like a combination of a track meet, rock concert and the running of the Bulls. #UCF

Scott Frost just made college football history. First team to ever go from 0-12 to undefeated 11-0 in two years. Never done before.

I'm watching the VT/Virginia game, and it just ran across the score streamer that Florida will be meeting with Frost on Saturday in case Kelly turns Florida down.

Per Scott Frost:

"I'm my representative and I'm going to be with my wife and baby this weekend." Scott Frost on reports he and his reps will meet with Florida football about their open job

ESPN reporting FLA officials meeting with Scott Frost under the assumption Chip Kelly goes to UCLA. Currie better be able to one up FU.

All we are hearing is Scott Frost is going to Nebraska, Florida or Tennessee.

But is he qualified for Tennessee?

Has he done enough?

Is his resume good enough?

Reason I'm asking is that he technically is an up and comer. Yes, he was OC at Oregon. Yes he has UCF ranked very high. But, who does UCF play?

Tennessee can't afford to hire just anyone. Tennessee needs to make a huge splash hire. Is Scott that kind of candidate?

Petrino is well seasoned coach. Mullen is more seasoned coach in this league. Not necessarily endorsing these two. Just stating my opinion...

I'm not advocating for Frost to be the coach (we could do a lot worse) but I watched UCF play USF and the commentators put up a graph. He has learned his craft from the following: Bill Bellichick, Bill Parcels, Jon Gruden, Tom Osborn and a couple more I cant remember. That's pretty good training in my opinion.
