Tee getting the job is would be absolutely awful. Hiring someone completely unproven for the same of nostalgia.

the program can't afford OJT with any coach right now, black, white, purple or green.

Big Al just stirs the pot anymore don't he. Maybe he can take over for Sharpton when he finally goes to the federal pen for tax evasion...

Its a factor with many fans. Maybe the adm doesn't want to deal with it. I know Martin dealt with a lot of racism.

Like I said earlier. Its no coincidence that the "fans" that are the biggest critics of Dobbs and JG are also the ones that are the loudest voices of protest when Tee, Rodgers, or Sumlin are mentioned as candidates.

Do tell what Martin dealt with, is he dealing with at Cal as well since he is lighting it up out there?

I wouldn't be against hiring strong, but he's probably the only qualified black candidate. We don't need an affirmative action hire.

We tried to hire strong and he backed out overnight. We hired cuonzo just too bad he stunk as a bball coach at Tenn. Gundy and Sumlin would be great hires for Tenn . Color has nothing to do with it.

Big Al seems to be trying to race shame TN into hiring his buddy Tee. Should never be allowed. With that said, I would have Tee at number 2 on my current list (without Gruden).

1. Gundy
2. Tee
3. Brohm

And no, I can't forgive Kiffen...not for leaving or the way he left, but for all the bull**** he tried to instill while he was here. Took down Vol pictures and memorabilia to put up Reggie Bush and USC crap. Brushed off the General and totally **** on our history.

I’m biracial if that counts. Proof is in the pudding. We’ve hired African American coaches in the past. I don’t think there’s a race issue. There is however a Haslam issue. Get rid of them clowns and maybe we don’t have the hiring problems we’ve had the last 10 years.

Reality is rarely clearcut. Yes, racism absolutely does creep into just about everything, including coaching hires. And yes, Haynesworth is a complete ****ing nutcase. It can be both.

Proof? You're the first I've ever seen draw that line, seems like something you just want to believe.

Not for the fans, but he has a point when it comes to the powers that be. We passed on Sumlin to hire Derek Dooley because the Haslams and Hamilton thought he was a better fit for the fan base because he said “Mama” and liked grits. Sumlin isn’t perfect, but we wouldn’t be here now.

The Haslams don’t think the plebs would tolerate a black coach because we are the pitchfork mob. It’s about the administration, not the fans, but it exists.

We tried hard to hire Charlie Strong though. I think we'd take Taggert in a second if he wanted the job. Tee is the only reason Albert is making these accusations. I'd love for tee to do well as a head coach somewhere but if you have a shot at a head coach like gundy you don't hire a coordinator.

Then why haven't we called him? He's officially on the market now...

maybe its' because he just got fired and has too much baggage?

we did actually hire CHarlie strong 5 years ago.

so albert h tweets this out, creates a narrative out of thin air, and are you trying to tell me it has legs?

that we are actively and purposefully not hiring tee martin or kevin sumlin because they're black? and if one of them is not hired, we're racist? i

its that black and white....? 2+2=4...like it's that solid of an equation???

I think Haynesworth doesn’t care about the average vol fan. He should give me $1 million and prove me wrong.

Ok so, Tee has 2 years as an OC and Sumlin just got fired but that has nothing to do with it, it because the color of their skin.

Way to play the race card Fat Al. This **** is what's wrong with America. So you are saying the most qualified individual shouldn't get the job because he is white. See how that works? That makes you a hypocrite.

I knew Tee in those days. He dealt with it. No idea about his time in Cal. It’s the lowest common denominator among us, but no one can deny that it exists. Look at Ole Miss, where they hung nooses around the neck of a Medgar Evers statue. They are deeper south than we are, but the small pct of us can be the loudest.
