Is our defense close to Alabama’s?

Yes, I think we have a better defense than Big Al.

Should be able to hold gaters to around 13 tators.

I dont think we will hold Florida under 30 only because we add multiple possessions per game with our high tempo offense. But....

Lol. Our defense gave up 40 something points to Pitt. Don't let Tennessee Tech that couldn't even score 14 points for the season going into our game fool you. Defense will get a wake up call this weekend. Florida pushed around Bama front 7 haha. What are they gonna do to our front 7? Spread keeps going up for a reason. Why can't we have realistic expectations? Like maybe think about Tennessee beating Kentucky, Missouri, Vanderbilt and South Carolina this year. I can see that happening. I don't see our offense hanging with Ole Miss, Florida, Alabama or UGA.

The title of your thread asked, "Is our defense close to Alabama's ?" Yes it is, 314 miles from Knoxville to Tuscaloosa.

I am interested in seeing what kind of adjustments Banks makes and how Coach Garners DL holds up, lbs hold up, dbs too…..

Florida will be let down after that Bama game. And hopefully beat up to. If we can play up to our potential, we have a great chance.

OP here. Perhaps you’re all right, we aren’t as good as Alabama on paper. But if we can play up to our potential, we can match the subpar effort that Alabama showed against Florida. That, combined with the letdown that Florida is experiencing, could possibly lead to us performing better than Alabama did. For us it’s currently the game of the year, for Alabama it was a game they simply expected to win.

If both defenses are staying on campus…….looks like it’s about 316 miles.

So not close at all.

Not China far……but not close.
