Be careful one injury puts him right there.. Take those words back..
Can you imagine the runners we have with Dobbs, Kamara, Hurd and Berry. All on field at the same time. A great OC would be drooling over that running attack
If you want to play what if...
What if we had Dobbs, Hurd and Kelly in the backfield with AK in the slot and Berry out wide as a WR?
Who the hell do you try to cover then?
If nobody gets open then you have both Hurd and Kelly in front of Dobbs blocking.
VFL...GBO!!!
There's been a lot of discussion concerning which of the freshmen receivers might take over the slot position. Why is Karmara not being considered a viable option there? If CBJ's offense is predominantly a 1 RB set, then we really need to find a way to get Kamara and his elite skill set on the field when Hurd is in as that single RB IMHO.
Kamara has proven to have good hands and is very dangerous in space. Reminds me of a larger, faster, and better Pig Howard who was pretty effective when he wasn't in trouble. Kamara was underutilized in 2015 and we need to find more ways to use him without using less Hurd.
I see what you are getting at, and it makes sense.
However, if you give a RB more time in a WR role, does that not take opportunities away from receivers? A group most agree need more chances to shine in order to recruit top end talent to the position?
I want to see everyone get their chances. If the passing game takes a bigger step, it spreads opposing defenses, and gives Hurd and Kamara just a few more inches of running room. With their talent, those inches turn into big yards.
