Is now the time to help recruiting by polishing Pruitt's language skills?

Mom's want to know that a university can polish their child to help them succeed outside of football.

What does it say about Tennessee as a school if they can't polish Pruitt's English?

He makes a few systematic errors. A good speaking coach could fix it in 1 hour a week over 4 weeks.

Does Tennessee have anyone like that?

Do you really think "mom" cares if Pruitt is an English professor? All mom cares about is that someone takes care of her little boy, teaches him to play football better and gets him a shot at a seven figure contract for playing a game on Sunday.

Wouldn't a "well spoken coach " sound better?
Think he is referring to a coach for Pruitt, not to Pruitt. Probably “speech coach” would have been a better choice of words. And that said, it reflects on Alabama, not Tennessee..............but I still wish Pruitt would follow the basic grammar rules, but that may be just I😂.

It’s distracting for me too OP but he’s from Alabama. He’s here to coach football. He doesn’t teach grammar because that is up to middle/high school teachers. Most curriculums require speech classes in college and he won’t be teaching those either. I wouldn’t worry about it.
This is correct. His grammar reflects on his Alabama education, not on Tennessee. As to his accent, that has nothing to do with grammar...go “git ‘em”, Jeremy.😂😂🧡 Airight?

Beyond that, personally don't care how he talks.

Just wish he would have enough sense to not tell reporters on the sidelines during games he wants to recruit over his team.
Awesome Point!!!!. This sealed his fate. A competent leader of young men would never ever say this in a public forum (he might think it but would never say it).

I'm picking up what you're putting down after reading the OP again.

Thanks.

it's his actions that will mostly endear him to parents and players, on and off the field of play...plus it's a little too late to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear...but, I don't mind sow's ears so what do I know...:D

PS. you do understand this is football and not ballet...right...;)

GO VOLS!

I’m sure Pruitt’s statements about recruiting over his players didn’t settle well with these moms.

You guy’s need to have that crazy eyebrow of his fixed. Most people don’t notice his lack of speaking ability because that crazy eyebrow distracts his audience.

We’ve had a eloquent lawyer who rambled about Rommel etc...
We’ve had a BS band member snake oil salesman wanna be mason both who could talk a good game.
How’d that work for us.
Pruitt has won at every level he’s been in.
Let’s give him the benefit of the doubt, and see how he does.

Ps- a certain higher learning Vandy coach just said “ we done beat Tennessee” .

Beat, being the keyword in that acceptable phrase.

And LSU’s big O speaks like he’s crawled out from under a rock and speaks in tongues with a mouth full of marbles and terminal throat cancer and somehow recruits well and has his team playing at a pretty high level

Basic grammar is learned early in life. His whole life has been football. He should review some of his tapes with a speaking coach and clean up some of the basic grammar errors. Very simple.
