Is Nico the male Meagan Markle?

Well he led the Vols at a 10-2 season and their first ever college football playoff. AS A FRESHMAN. Did he do this alone? No, of course not. Vols lose the Alabama game without him, probably the OU game without him. He had a stinker at Arkansas and Vols lose to Florida without him. They all got their asses kicked at Columbus.

Just like Heupel getting a raise, or bonus, I think you sit down with your Freshman QB and give him a bump. Could have been a small one, a drop in the bucket compared to how much UT takes in and you do this behind closed doors and no one even knows it happens. You also evaluate other key players that excelled throughout the year and bump them too. It's called a meritocracy. Nico's original deal was to come play at UT and while maybe there weren't "provisions" in there, it's good business to give extra incentives to key "employees" or they may go elsewhere.

Should Nico have asked for and did he deserve over 2 mil more this year? Probably not. But does 250k-500k framed as a bonus, go along way with morale? Who knows, likely, coupled with the promise to try everything they can to bring in better linemen, more depth and a few WRs.

If after that he's kicking and screaming and wants more and more than maybe you just part ways as he'll likely NEVER be satisfied.

I think the Vols blew an opportunity to handle a good business transaction back in late Jan and Feb and I think Nico pulling this in April did NOBODY any favors.....
He was the QB on a team that went 10-2 and the playoffs. Sampson and the defense led the team from my viewpoint. He certainly had a few decent games.

Are you kidding? Nico was trying to extort $2M MORE from TN. He signed a contract. He didn't show at final practice. He didn't show at O & W game. He didn't communicate with the coaches. He played hard ball. TN told him and his fat@$$ daddy to take a hike. If you love him that much, move to LA and watch him there. GBO!!

You can call him a freshman all day long if you want, but he was in the second year of the system. He was being paid quite handsomely to do a lot more than he personally did. Have you seen his stats relative to the rest of the SEC? You think THAT was worthy of a bump? I certainly don't, and I doubt you are going to find many on this board that do based on lackluster performance and the fact that he was already paid what he was being paid.

made a career out of psychoanalyzing his former band mate via song

i like floyd but always felt that was kinda weird
RW came to Orlando and played a concert during ChinaFlu. It was delayed for 2 years before he finally played, but I will give him credit for finally showing up. The stage was cruciform shaped and covered with a giant box that was probably 25 feet tall. All you could see was the corner of each leg and there they had a few instruments set up like a few guitars or a keyboard or drums. Great potential for a Pink Floyd type show. When the lights went down, the box became a giant billboard with a moving message that read: IF YOU LOVE PINK FLOYD, BUT DON'T LIKE MY POLITICS RETIRE THE FLUCK TO THE BAR. That is how it started. Then he proceeded to absolutely BUTCHER Comfortable Numb. No guitar solo at all, no doubt a dig at GIlmour. The box that had been the stage cover had raised to probably 40 feet over the stage and continued to be a giant billboard of movies that not only bashed the USA and Trump, but pretty much every US president since LBJ. The music itself was OK other than the first number, but it was more of his politics. I wish I would have burned the $500 dollars that I spent on those tickets and listened to the albums instead.

Contrast that with the David Gilmour concert that I saw at Royal Albert Hall in London last fall (One of my once in a lifetime bucket list things) which was absolutely delightful. He walked out on stage under the classic Pink Floyd eye, and smoke wafted over the stage to enhance the lasers that were pretty much everywhere. Started out with 2 instrumental pieces that were post PF, and then played individual pieces from probably 5 or 6 PF albums as well as a bunch stuff from his new one (which is growing on me). The entire arena sang along with Wish You Were Here and it was magical. Ended the concert with Comfortably Numb and it was amazing. I won't say what I paid to go to this, but it was worth every nickel.

You couldn't give me tickets to go to see RW again. He's a bitter prick because he knows who REAL PF fans would rather see.

Against obviously lesser opponents. He didn't earn what he was getting much less deserve any kind of a bump.

Without Sid doing loads of LSD we'd never gotten 'Shine on you crazy Diamond', and half the songs on Dark Side of the Moon Lp.. Got to keep the loonies on the grass
RW was THE writer, no doubt and Dark Side wouldn't have been what it was without him. I don't know why he is the way he is, but there is zero doubt in my mind that he was the cause of Pink Floyd's demise. I hope he finds peace someday, I really do. He's just a bitter man.

The Mount Rushmore of Tenn ex-VFLs is now complete:
Lane Kiffin
Jalen Hurd
Henry T
Nico
I was a tech writer, so hopeful you will understand why I ask for your forgiveness in advance.

The acronym VFL stands for VOL FOR LIFE. You can't be an ex-VFL because of the word LIFE. As Kamala who loves Venn diagrams is telling us, those circles don't intersect. Each on on this list had the VFL card revoked, so what I guess I'm trying to say is, if you aren't a VFL when you die, you NEVER were a VFL. You can't be an ex-VFL.

Much ado...

Maybe they would have given him a bump if he had been fulfilling his obligations off the field. If he was missing functions that were expected of him (not practice), then he might have been viewed as less than a leader. Heup brought this up in a presser several weeks ago. It appears he wasn't representing. That's diva-ish and not good for team building. Undeserving a bump, perhaps.
Number one now at this point Nico needs to cut the cord but it will be a tough deal for him. Wish him the best as he took a pay decrease and UCLway is not best landing spot but I guess at least he is back home. Will get eat up by taxes in Cali.

This. The two Waters performances I have attended were legendary. It's his personal opinions of both himself and the rest of the world that are so despicable. I agree his biggest issue is he is now a bitter old man, evolving backwards instead of progressing forwards from his fame as a bitter young man. That's why we can't have Pink Floyd.

Gilmour's performance at MSG last fall was completely mind blowing and epic and I loved it significantly more than both Waters shows I have seen.

If you've seen any of the billions of Pink Floyd videos on the web ( post RW ), his absence has not hurt them at all. Dave Gilmour carried the torch and gave us tons of videos to view ( the best being PF at Earl's Court-1994). Personally, the shows without RW are better than the ones with him.

And regardless of her political views she is one of the most pretentious and fake people ever. Many, many people on both sides of the political spectrum see through her scam. I doubt she actually supports any political cause other than herself. She's a full blown narcissist.
she also was on the tv show "suits" actually kinda liked her on there. :)

Did I state he should get 2 mil?

Yes he signed a contract

He didn't show to practice and that was his decision.

He didn't show to O/W game, especially because he was off roster

Yes he/camp played hard ball and lost

I do not hate Nico like you do.

I might see him play as I watch LOTS of college football

It's not a contest, but I guarantee you I am a more dedicated Big Orange fan than you. Again not a contest. Okay, you win.

Could a lot of the things above been avoided? Probably. We'll never know

You obviously didn't read my post.

Thanks

As compared to other Freshman? You can discount him as a Freshman all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that he was a Freshman.

Firemen and paramedics demanding a LOT better pay would seem reasonable and with merit imo. When you're a college kid earning 2M+ per year to play a game , you should probably just be thankful you can do what earns you that kind of money and roll with it.

A QB going into the spring portal with a ā€œdo not contact tagā€ is about as presumptuous as Markle thinking she needs a blue light escort through NY.

Sorry to make a post for this. The thought though cracked me up.
Nico Iamarkleava? It was meant to be.
