I figure with Ainge being a senior,Coker running hard,etc., think we can run the table, or did we just let our best shot bypass us this year?

I think our most stacked team by far was 2005. We completely blew it. Next year I don't think we'll have the horses to compete with Arkansas in the SEC and Michigan nationally. There's still a lot of rebuilding to do before we can think about being a national power again.

I don't know about our receiving corps ... so a strong Ainge doesn't mean as much as it did this year. But, some of the younger guys could step up. Coker running hard doesn't mean much to me, Foster ran hard to close out last season.

I say we have several years of work to do to our lines...with solid recruiting elsewhere before we can really have this discussion. I'm not even sure we can have the SEC Championship discussion.

Ha! I don't see that happening with the team I saw this year. Running game, pathetic. Defense, lacking talent all around.

This was the season for a small chance at the NC game. It sounds weird, but we may end up with a better record next year but without the chances we had this season.

I think we can run the table every year, but I have to be honest enough to say that we are not at a place talent wise to be cocky about getting in there and slugging it out with SoCal or OSU....

Winning the SECCG and standing with one loss.
Lets do that. Then let the chips fall where they may.

Be glad we didn't stumble our way into the National Title game. Any of the other contenders would pound our eyes shut on national TV. We don't need that kind of setback right now.

No, we need need a bowl game we can win against a quality opponent....like the Citrus bowl against Michigan a few years back. That would give us some momentum to ride into next year and hopefully an SEC Championship.

Don't see you beating UF at Gainesville. Florida starts a ton of underclassmen and will go to the full-fledged version of spread option next year.

You are losing alot of key players this year and Tebow arm is unproven but it will be tough for us I agree.

Nice try, but the only place a spread option will be run is Tuscaloosa, because Alabama is hiring Urban Meyer.

...and still I'm not quaking in my boots....

As I've said before, I do not fear this little toy offense.

I'll respect your team's talent, but enough of the "my scheme's gonna beat your scheme" stuff...

I don't care what you see. Also news flash for you gator boy. Urban Crier did not invent the option. There have been a few schools run that offense here in the SEC long before the Crier was even coaching

UT is losing a lot this year from a team with 3 conference losses. Last year's recruiting class was marginal by SEC standards and there probably will be only a handful of guys in the '07 class who are not redshirted. For the most part guys who are currently Juniors would already be starting if they were worth a flip. Basically, UT is going to have to "reload" with the on-hand redshirt freshmen and sophmores. I'll probably start researching on some of those fellas in the coming weeks in order to try and get a handle on where UT will wind-up next year.

Bring it on next year.......We have the speed on defense to match your speed on offense, with the exception of Harvin.....It'll be a good game next year though, I'm looking forward to it, wish it came later in the year though.....I think if we played ya'll now, we'd beat you.....JMO....Guess we'll never know

A quick look at next year's schedule:
@Cal
Southern Miss
@ Florida
Northern Illinois
Central Florida
Georgia
@Mississippi St
@Bama
South Carolina
Arkansas
Vandy
@Kentucky

Doing a lot of guessing, I would say we will be an underdog at Gainesville, pick 'ems at Cal and at home against Arkansas, and favorites in every other game.

The defense could be better overall, and our play at running back and quarterback should be at least as good as this year.

At receiver, we lose alot, and must have playmakers step up.

The biggest concern for me is on the line of scrimmage, especially on offense. These guys had better get much, much better during the offseason.

Is it possible that we run the table, or finish with one loss and in the mix for a title? Yes.

Is it probable? Please say a prayer for receivers and O-linemen.

Cotton, with the late season improvement that Richt is getting from his Dawgs I'd have to put them as a pick 'em, if not a favorite over UT next year.

I count 6 maybes on next year's schedule as it looks right now.

GA, SC, and BAMA will be better next year. CAL will be close to what they are now. FL...tough to tell right now. ARK still dangerous.

Wow! That's an absolute joke of a non-conference schedule next year. For as much complaining as some UT fans do about other schools, you would think that we actually played a difficult non-conference schedule.

I think Meach will be back next year. Obviously there is a long time before we know for sure. But from interviews with him about it and his relationship with Trooper and his projected draft position I think he ends up coming back. If he comes back I think UT has a great shot at the SECCG. I think if we get by a tough road test at UF early in the season we have as good a shot at a NT as any team in the SEC. Our OL will be much better next season. Our actual talent at the position is young. Our defensive talent is also very young. We will need some DL to step up if we are going to contend, but we do have some talent at the position that is capable. It is very early to make any kind of educated decision. At UF and home against Arky will be big games. I think every other game on the schedule will be a "should win" game.

You may be right, but I was just gazing into my crystal ball looking for tea leaves. I gave the Orange the nod because 1) the game is in Knoxville, and 2) Georgia stunk for most of this year.

Besides, isn't Richt going to be coaching at Bama next season:shades:

Compared to some of the other teams in the SEC we do play tough hard OOC schedules.......Some years...I agree that next year isn't the toughest one of I've ever seen but Cal and Southern Miss...Cal moreso than Southern Miss are both decent teams
