Is Mizzou's offense just really bad?

1 sack in 3 games! Lovin' it.

I like that we're not getting sacked as much...but I'm not completely sure where to place this, though.

South Carolina has had only 9 total sacks in their 10 games (they literally could not sack the FCS team they played); they rank at the bottom of the FBS in that category.

I know Alabama also likely has great-caliber, recruited player...probably along every position. But I've been looking through their game log, and I'm not sure how really efficient they are in the area either. Taking out the one game against A&M where the whole team woke up and throttled the Aggies (they had surprisingly well above their average, with 6 sacks, which is the main reason their total is in the 20s right now), they've only had 3 games where they recorded 3 or more sacks (WVU, FAU, Arkansas). In fact they only sacked UT once or twice, and since then they've only recorded 2 sacks against LSU and 1 sack against Miss St.

I don't know what to make of UK in this regard...it looks like a lot of their sack total came from 5 of their first 6 games: UTM (3), Ohio (2), UF (2), Vandy (4), and ULM (6)...they weren't able to touch South Carolina (who's apparently one of the worst in sack protection on the year)...after that, while they did get 3 against Miss St, there other games came out as LSU (1 sack), Missouri (2), UGA (0), and UT (1).

Again, all I'm saying this for is to note that I don't know whether to say the problems the o-line was having earlier are necessarily gone/fixed, or if at least 2 of those teams are bad at pressuring/sacks on defense (1 at least is...South Carolina's D-line coach should be embarrassed by those numbers).

Looking at it though (to be fair):

UF has a pretty good defense, despite it's utter lack of offense (ranking about 20th in the country in yards allowed, and around 30th in the country in points allowed per game), and part of the reason for the offense numbers was the starting starting field defense forced (as well as the two returns of turnovers) saw 3 fumbles forced on UF's side of the 50 and 3 INTs on UF's side of the field...that plus 4 scoring drives were just returns.

The Florida game was the weirdest football game I've ever watched. Don't get me wrong our offense wasn't good, but Pinkel switched to conservative playcalling late second quarter. The offense wasn't really asked to do much because of what the defense and special teams did
