Is Mike Leach high? (merged)

I saw that live looked like he picked up grass and dirt to stick it in his mouth. Not surprising from the Mad Hatter.

I saw that while watching with some Alabama fans. I said did he just pick something off the ground and stick it in his mouth??? We backed it up and it didn't look like something fell out of his mouth, like gum, and he just picked it up 5 sec rule style.... No, he rummaged in the grass for a sec, picked up something indiscriminate and popped it in.

After the game I looked at the bammers and said I can't believe we both lost to this guy. Les is the guy in gym class no one wants to cover cuz he picks his scabs off and eats them...

Maybe that's was just his style.?.? No emotion, dry, monotone speaking with nothing interesting to say..

He was bland and boring but it sounded as if he was interviewing for a job with UT... His praise for TN was refreshing to hear versus all of the negative crap we get from the national and even local media... However, when they showed him in the booth, I was reminded of "cow bell girl" from the Boise St game/TCU game last year... (don't mean to offend her)

I should have DVR'd the game. I would love to go back and count how many times he said "uhhh". Must be his catch phrase.

He knew what he was talking about, not sure how any1 can argue that. He had more insight in that 1 game than Verne's had in 3/4.

This guy amused me saying how great both true Frosh QB were doing when memplis QB had been out like three series. Gosh why can not have his salary LOL

I met Mike Leach Sunday morning in Memphis. I pulled up to a BP station in Downtown as I was leaving to come back home. He was at the next pump. I asked if he was Mike Leach and he immediately started to talk to me about the game last night how his broadcast went. I had Tenn stuff on. :eek:lol:I said it was an ugly game probably but it was a Tenn win. He said not really that ugly. He said Bray was in rhythm and that looked good to him. He is kinda goofy in conversation but was very friendly and open. He lives in Key West and was headed back before leaving later this week for another game.

I do not think he is on drugs but he reminded me of what a conversation with Les Miles might be like. Does not interview very well.

You met Vince Gill not Mike Leach

I think the reason I tend to like Leach, is that he is one of the rare football people who isn't a glorified gym teacher...if that makes any sense.

He's a different cat for sure, but his life doesn't begin and end with football. Seems like so many coaches/commentators couldn't carry a conversation outside of the spread option or 3-4 vs 4-3...

Leach was probably distracted. Some people when they go out of town worry if they left the iron on. Leach may have left that James kid in the closet.

In other words, football is something Leach does. It does not define him.
