Granted they had Russell at qb and had we them on the ropes. They came back on a 4th down conversion and scored in the final seconds. Is this years LSU team better than the 2006 team that had 4 first round draft picks?

Yes we are. We lack in some areas as opposed to last year... But we have more talent, we have a group of better team oriented individuals... and we handle pressure better. But over all yes we're a better tesm. After all we are playing in the BCS NC this year as opposed to the Sugar Bowl.

If it wasn't for those pesky gators you guys would have probably played in the NC last year as well....

Possibly so... but the Florida game last year was a total mental breakdown by LSU. And that's my point... LSU had this unbeatable mentality last year because J.Russell was taking the snaps.
This year... we've had many chances to break down and lose... but we fought back and refused to lay down... and we won. Our outlook is vastly different than last years team... we relied on Russell too much... this year everyone plays a big role.

The team UT just recently lost to wasn't better than the 2006 LSU squad. You guys were really hurting in that SEC Championship game. UT should have been able to put the Tigers away with all those injuries.

Possibly. But that's been the story of LSU football for atleast half the year. Everyone says we'll... "LSU struggled to win this game or that"... but we've been riddled with injuries all year. Not saying it's the case in this game... but our 2nd string has much better talent than most squads starting players.
LSU plays this year like we're wild animals cornered into fighting. A lot of people take us lightly... but if we show up we could be any teams worst nightmare.

That game was just a result of extremely piss poor officiating. I won't even start to explain how bad we were screwed there. Had that game been called right it would have been us and Florida in the SECCG and possibly the NC. But that was then.... now we're where we should be.

Rewatch that game... the late hit on Hester 3 yards out of bounds should of given us 1st and goal... and the rediculous Offensive PI call when we threw the one TD was rediculous. We lost by 3 but had a few key calls been made... we win by 11.
Let's not forget about the Auburn game this year where the Officials missed a blatant chop block on Dorsey. Seems key calls always get missed in Auburns favor when we play them.
