Is LSU a trap game?

1. LSU is unranked.
2. Early morning start - players not woke up good.
3. Kelly rotates qbs like Spurrier used to?
4. Vols looking ahead to Alabama?
5. LSU defense confuses high powered Vol offense as they did with Miss. State?
6. Eating spicy gumbo on Friday night causes digestive issues?

Yes this could be a trap game but it will not because the Vols will be ready to score and then score some more.

Kelly is due for his first SEC loss.

We are on the rise, so every game is a "trap game". Everyone working at espn ect is just waiting on a big ole L. Just take it one game at a time and enjoy the ride.

Every SEC road game is a trap game. Anything can happen. Its a nooner so the boys traveling from the bayou will not have time to get juiced up prior to the game. Another top 25 matchup and probably a sell out. This is great for recruiting in Louisiana!

LSU is ranked 25. LSU is one of our preseason toss up games and still is. Nobody should be looking at them and expecting a cake walk.

Precisely. Anybody thinking that we are just going to waltz in there and win by 20 is fooling themselves. We could easily lose and it is 50/50 at best. Our defense is atrocious and LSU has a very good defense, we have the distinct habit of making average quarterbacks look great.

LSU hasn’t been scoring much in the first half, hopefully that happens with us and we build a lead. I expect the 2nd half to be really tough.

Agree with commenters… no SEC game is a trap game, just ask Butch about Vandy (I was there, lucky to get out before the rebellion!).

We beat Florida. That's awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed that. But, this team still has a LONG way to go. We're in Year 2. We have no right to "look past" any opponent on our schedule. So, no, this isn't a trap game. If we look past this game to Alabama, we honestly deserve to lose.

This does have the potential to be a trap game and if Tennessee makes a few splash plays in the kicking game, I think that will be the key to a good win.

I agree. I think we can beat them for sure, but it’s going to take solid preparation and execution. Similarly I think we can be favored in the rest of the games we have left, except Alabama and Georgia. We can even beat those guys but it would take some special circumstances and isn’t likely.

Here is how I see our remaining opponents from hardest to easiest:

- Georgia
- Alabama
- LSU
- Kentucky
- Missouri
- South Carolina
- Vanderbilt
- UT Martin

Georgia and Alabama in all likelihood are losses. LSU is probably close to a tossup. Kentucky I think we should beat but wouldn’t be shocked if they upset us. The other teams I think we beat almost always. 8-4 is the lowest I think we are likely to go, and 10-2 is the highest we are likely to go. I think if we played out the rest of the schedule hundreds of times we’d be between 8-4 and 10-2 in over 90% of final season outcomes. We could go 7-5 or 11-1 but I think both scenarios are very unlikely with 11-1 maybe being more likely. Worse than that and 12-0 are of course possible but very very improbable.

A trap game. We haven’t been a consistently winning program in 15 years. I hope the players don’t think like you do. LSU is plenty good to beat us if we don’t play hard and execute. I think LSU will be a very challenging game.

It will be interesting to see how we come out of a bye week. I always dreaded these games with Butch and co. We went to South Carolina after a bye week in 2016, and we could not have looked worse. Lol.

People that are underestimating LSU better realize this is gonna be an extremely tough game. Toughest all year so far.

You have Missouri and UT Martin reversed.

With the way the Florida and Pitt game ended, we can't overlook quality opponents at this time. We have to figure out how to close out games and not leave the door open for other teams to comeback before we start overlooking top 25 teams in their stadium.

Y’all be sure to wear a pink item to support breast cancer awareness.

No. That pink campaign is just another rip off, with something like only .07 of every dollar actually going to research(as of a hand full of years ago when I researched it). So basic math tells me that I’d have to donate/spend $15 just to break donating $1 to actual research, or donate $1429 to actually have $100 go to research.

Plus it’s the most curable form of cancer. So sorry if I think attention, and dollars could be better used elsewhere instead of being ripped off all for the most curable cancer there is, simply because people love boobs.

No offense to anyone who has been affected by breast cancer. I’m truly sorry you, and/or a loved one went through that. I’m not throwing shade at the cancer or the people affected by it. I simply don’t support the whole pink thing.
