Is Lady Vols Legacy Over?

No one on our LV coaching staff wants to attend or reach out to Geno or go and watch a practice or two. I think he even host coaching clinics. my point is if any coach wanna learn from the best you have to drop the hatchet and pride and at least watch film on the guy. It's probably easier said than done . I'm sure Butch doesn't go watch Saban practice with his team . But we have to stop living in the past and come up with new game strategy and better ways to develop players. Hire Coach Jumper and Margo!!!

it's not over if the legacy is losing double digit games every year, finishing in the middle of the pack of the SEC, not being rated in the Top 25 and getting knocked out of the SEC tourney in the first round.

other than that it's all good.

No No No, It ant over by a long shot. I believe Jordan Reynolds comments will wake this team and coaches up. I know the saying wait till next year is getting old, but don't give up on this team and wait till next year. We will have several players with speed that only Diamond DeShields has this year. I'm so hoping DD and MR return to the team and we will only lose one or two games all year.

Mercedes numbers lead you to believe she is actually playing better on the court than those numbers really show. She is lazy, and she loafs fifty percent of the time she is on the court. She is not as dominant as she should be to be as big as she is.

And you are clueless.

Dawn Staley can not coach! Gino beat her with less talent.

I hate when people kept on mentioning Coach D.Staley, she cant coach period! she got the best team in the country but can't win. If TN is smart, they go after Lawson or Parker. Those are high class young experience coaches..

I have watched several of his videos. . . I think he is spot on in his assessment from "All Access" where he says today's player's athleticism is better, but their skill levels aren't. For the most part I say true. But, I would elaborate: I think the girls come in higher skilled, but not taught the skills that they do incorporate, very well. (Case in point, breakaway layups...girls still can't cradle their release consistently). He says, and I agree, "There is much more emphasis on playing the game instead of learning the game" and "Assume they don't know as much as they think they know."

This is why the first thing I do with players are run them through about 40-50 drills. When I do this, I expose, not only to me, but to them, that there is still much to be learned.

I'd like to put the entire team through my battery of skills-drills. They'd see that there is much more to learn.

I appreciate Margo, but she seems to only verbalize the problems, I look for solutions to. Thank you for the endorsement.

Jordan Reynolds made one of the most Stupid comments ever uttered by a Lady Vol after the Bammer loss in the SECT.

Diamond is likely gone to the WNBA. I do, though, think it's entirely possible that the Lady Vols will be a better team without her.

She's not lazy at all. All she needs is a good coach. There's a reason why professional sports fires their coaches, it's because "if one can't coach, one can't coach"

Professional teams fire coaches and then instead of getting new blood, they hire coaches who failed elsewhere...not a solution.

Not all 6'6" women can run, jump and fly...Matter of fact, the vast majority struggle with their long limbs.

People need to back off of her ... she is a double-double machine. She has the most consistent game of ALL of the players....We can count on her to give this every game.

So, back off of her.

She performs.
She just isn't as graceful doing it as you expect her to be.

In the right offense with the right coaching, she would be dominate. Because of her mechanics and lumbering movements, the offense needs to be a half-court post oriented offense and zone heavy on defense to take advantage of her size.....

Mercedes is Kareem Abdul Jabar....Not David Robinson. Kareem was never as smooth as David. And like Kareem, her game is mid-paint, in. I'd rather have Kareem...He is above Michael, Kobe and Karl on the all-time scoring list.

Cedes scores double figures in nearly every game. . . 16.3 points and 9.5 boards. She is 1/2 a rebound a game from actually averaging a double double.

She does needs to learn the sky-hook.
I have studied it. The release point is not followed through with the arm and the release itself is like the release of a paperwad...You don't goose-neck a sky-hook release. He kept the path of the ball on the uptake close to his body too, so guards couldn't steal it like the old wind-mill hook.

Trouble is, they can double-team her because no one else is a threat when she is in there. When it is Qui and her, they both play the same game, so they often cancel each other out. Got to be either a high-post or one outside the arc.

Hi-Lo

Get an elbow or arc threat for your PF and she can work. They can't double-team if you stack your post. One at the dotted line and one at the elbow.

You don't tell anyone what to say on this board. I have my opinion on Mercedes and it's mine. I didn't ask you to share in it. You have your opinion and that's fine. Don't try to make your's mine.

Calling someone lazy is an opinion?
Do you know her well?
Have you ever watched her run in person.
Truly watched her.
She works her butt off.

Is she tough enough, NO.
But lazy, hell no!

I've heard it reported that the UConn players look forward to the games because the practices are so tough. The games seem light in comparison.
