Is it time to get concerned yet?

no, if the results on the field in 2013 is less than 6-6 and 2014 class of recruits is under 20 then it's over

I guess the most concerning problem for me is that all these running backs not wanting to play here, very disturbing. I know some of you are going to say give Butch Jones and co. moore time well I look at this two ways one we pay alot of money for these guys too put the best product on the field and secondley we cant afford to be this far behind in recruiting this year or any year for that matter. Auburns new coaches seem to be doing alot better than our coaches, why? i really belive we fans are not going to be very happy come NSD. Sorry just my opion VFL.

I guess until we start winning we will just have to be satisfied to take everyone's rejects. Been watching Tennessee football for 55 years . Never thought it would be this bad. Really hard to be optimistic at my age.

Yes, it's time to be very concerned about UT football, the university has made too many poor decisions regarding our once proud program.....only positive I can see is that we can only go up from where we are presently....we are at rock bottom unfortunately

Most of the kids we are in on are not making their decision till NSD or close to it. I wouldn't jump off the bridge till that day.

Actually for everyone wanting to judge the staff now, today would be a great day to jump off a bridge.

I kid. I kid.

no I say they should go ahead and jump, the bridge is much too crowded right now.

Just wait until mid-season next year (after a$$ kickings from Oregon, Florida, Bama and UGa)...the bridge will be so full the damn thing will collapse.

Kids that are planning on taking several visits in January rarely commit until all those visits are through. We may see some committments after the weekend but there is nothing to worry about yet. I think we may see a few OV's used after signing day.

Well, I for one am starting to buy in to the fact Jones is planning a big BOOM on NSD. Yeah, some wishful thinking perhaps but I believe that has been the plan all along.

You strike me as a guy who's just going to be so disappointed when CBJ lands a nice 2013 signing class, puts us in a bowl game next year and really gets this place rocking starting in 2014.

You better get your pot shots in here quickly, because they're going to stop making any sense to a lot of people really soon...

You think I want us to fail? Seriously?

Yes, I do.

It was hard enough attracting CBJ here (he was our fourth choice, after all).

If we don't give him enough time and support to be successful, the Tennessee job is going to even less attractive to the next guy we try to get.

May want to rethink that "hard enough attracting CBJ..." part.

He openly stated that UT was his dream job after the game he played against them in 2011. It took Hart and him less than 12 hours in their first meeting to put the whole proposal and plan together. In 48 hours he was giving his press conference with the 13th best compensation package of a college football HC and $3+ mil for staff. All of that coming less than 24 hours from when he told his former AD he was staying.

The two village idiots made it the 4th choice. The first 3 were already well entrenched and making big bucks where they were. Don't even bother, much less make a formal offer to guys like that.

I think you know he's just bracing for the disappointment that has visited us so often in recent years. Some of you make it even worse by pumping things up beyond reality so that expectations are often deflationary. What everyone needs to do is wait until Feb 6th and see how we end the 2013 class of recruiting. But don't blame someone for being wary or cautious. Good fortune hasn't come our way in so long that it doesn't seem possible that it will.

I'm concerned. Just over a week to signing day and we lose a recruit. All the big names we're chasing are waiting, and despite some wanting to be 100% positive, I cannot help but think of our current streak of bad luck. We need someone to commit.

You mean the recruit who we all knew we would lose when the new staff took over? You are going into freak out mode over that?

Do you freak out every morning when that big orange and yellow ball in the sky in the comes out from hiding, too?

What about when you turn your faucet and water comes out?
