I think no, but 3-7 capped by a lackluster recruiting class might do him in.
Who's writing the check?

And is that before they figure out how much covid has cost the Ath Dept. this year, with that possibly even carrying over to next year, or after.

If your even able to figure that out, who is the AD making the hire? Its not the current one.

For better or worse short of a scandal, the type where the buyout is nulled he's not going anywhere unless he decides to leave on his own.

Somebody needs to contact Borat and tell him Pruitt is a die hard Trumper and says Borat could never fool him.

It's our best chance.

Fulmer just gave him an extension and the athletic department is hemorrhaging money. They can’t afford to fire him. He’ll get at least 1 more year. Given our current trajectory, next years Ole Miss game might be the death knell if Kiffin were to come to Knoxville and win. The BVS in me totally sees that happening.

CJP needs a mentor like Coach O has in John Robinson at LSU. CJP seems to have the football knowledge, but is lacking in leadership skills...at this point. He ain’t going anywhere fir the next 2 to 3 years, IMHO.

At this point, Pruitt hasn't shown the ability to utilize the players to the best of their abilities. We've got to give him a chance to do it, but there is no history of him doing it since he's never been a head coach. At least not anyting remotely close to this level
No, he hasn’t being a head coach, but you can see that they all love him, and he will. I think these recruits will play harder for him. What we have now, and what is coming in, will be a nice mix.

I am shocked we are here already with all the talk going on... but if we end up finishing say 3-7 or get beat by Vandy and blown out by others with no big win, etc. do you think it is actually possible Pruitt is on the hot seat to be removed as head coach at the end of THIS season???

I'm not sure I can handle another coaching search already.... but what do you think?
Maybe. UT loves paying folks for doing nothing.

IMO the only way Pruitt is gone in the next 2 years is if he decides he's had enough and just wants to be a DC somewhere and leaves on his own.

Players loving a coach isn't indicative of subsequent team success. I'm glad the players love him, but that's not any kind of barometer as to whether he's going to be a good head coach. Right now, it doesn't look good. Every time we think we're turning a corner, we suffer pathetic setbacks and we don't looked well coached at all

I think they will remain loyal. I also believe 2021 will change our perception under Pruitt.
You believe it, yet you have no concrete evidence he's getting it done. We looked poorly coached at times. Far too many mental errors. Far too many T/Os. You also will see our players out of position far too often. Those are things that are actually happening on the field and they suggest the players aren't being developed as well as they should be by our coaches

He should be fired after this season but Fulmer won’t allow it.

There’s been no signs of improvement his third year.

Well I guess if he had a BBQ and then lied about it to the NCAA.....maybe.......but it’s starting to get cold. He’ll probably be making soup....not BBQ’ing.

NO

He’s here for at least another full year, probably two.

0/15 against Florida, Georgia, and Alabama will get him canned. No amount of buyout will save him going 5 years without showing progress by beating our three biggest "rivals".

Depending on the outcome of the season, that extension may get Fulmer fired in December.

No. He just got an extension. Even if he loses out some of the staff will get fired as sacrificial lambs. We can’t afford to pay out anymore coaches.

No he will not get fired at end of season. He will be given next year to prove his growth as a head Coach. I hope we finish well this year finish off this recruiting class as there are a dozen really good players committed and several you really like there athletic upside. If more than anything that if Pruitt does not make it in year 4 or 5 he leaves the next coach with a better roster than he inherited because a really good roster helps in the next hire.

Not happening, Fulmer must've seen how rough this year would be and got ahead of it by giving him a raise and extension. Squash the fire talk before it begins and take whatever happens this season.

No, I wish but no. This year has always been a wash in the eyes of the program it seems and I don't even think losing out would get him canned.
