I am shocked we are here already with all the talk going on... but if we end up finishing say 3-7 or get beat by Vandy and blown out by others with no big win, etc. do you think it is actually possible Pruitt is on the hot seat to be removed as head coach at the end of THIS season???

I'm not sure I can handle another coaching search already.... but what do you think?

Definitely.

Considering how our AD saw the success of firing coaches the season after giving them extensions, and the financial gluttony we are privy to in the football program, this thread is earth shattering and ground breaking with insight and relevance.

We have one of the best recruiting classes coming in under Pruitt. One of the best that I’ve seen since the 90’s. Give Pruitt time to mix his classes together.

I think we give him another 1-2 years but something has to show as improvement somewhere on the field or we are going to lose some of those recruits

At this point, Pruitt hasn't shown the ability to utilize the players to the best of their abilities. We've got to give him a chance to do it, but there is no history of him doing it since he's never been a head coach. At least not anyting remotely close to this level

Fulmer would never do it without a powerful push from some key boosters. He would probably only do it to save his job, but if he is doing the next hire, we will just get more of the same.
There are a number of coaches that might do well here that Fulmer would never consider

I think it will improve. I don’t see these recruits leaving at all. I think they are loyal and stick around.

It's more likely that Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johansson, and Charlize Theron show up at my house for nude oil wrestling.

No, and I hope a bad season will not affect the recruiting class, but suspect it will. :(

The only 3 ways I see a coaching change happening (absent of firing "for cause")

1. Fulmer finds out a high end candidate is interested in returning to coaching (i.e. Urban Meyer, Bob Stoops, Chris Peterson) AND

2. The team goes 2-8 (or maybe 3-7) and looking really uninspired in those games (i.e. quiting like they did against UK) AND

3. A large, federal stimulus package that trickles down to UT that will make a coaching change more bearable from financial standpoint.
