Is it me, or did that one hurt really bad?

Florida was much worse. I actually was pleasantly delusional and thought we were good back in September

I agree. I had that excitement of old there at the end and just knew that this was the turning point and we would pull out a W. That loss hurts big time.

Expected it. Really in a no-lose situation. We win, we beat Spurrier. We lose, Dooley is closer to gone.

Meh ...... Love the Vols, they deserve better than this. Hopefully they'll get it.

The players gave it their all for Tennessee... not for Dooley. I'm proud of that, but don't kid yourself about why they played hard today.

They're Vols... just not well-coached, yet.

Good game, gentlemen! :hi:

To me this one hurt worse then any game this year. We were closer to winning then any SEC game all year. If Dooley had just a little game day coaching ability it's a game we would have won. He seemed completely absent to me. I really wanted this game for the players because they gave their all today. (With a couple exceptions). Our defense has 6-7 quality players that go hard every play but the rest are horrendous. I feel bad for the players that busted their ass today.

In all seriousness, you know whats im more sick of than losing? Listening to "Tennessee Fans" bash Dooley after a game where his players played their tales off. I know the defense is terrible, but I also saw them come out like they heard what was needed at halftime.

I just feel like all these posts saying, "Im use to losing" or "I expect Dooley to lose these games", are people that have been fans for 4 years or people who didnt give a damn about Tennessee before they enrolled at the college.

This programs decline started WAY before Dooley entered the picture. Fulmer's finals years he lost to Memphis and Wyoming. Lane Kiffin had a crushing lose against Bama that saw us kick it 3 feet off the ground 2 times to lose the game. Dooley was 1 penatly away from beating LSU and UNC in his first year.

Im a Tennessee Fan that knows what it means to have a head coach that has been with and cares for the program. The last thing I want to see is for Tennessee to become a place that hires a new coach ever 4 years.

When Derek Dooley took over this program, we get crushed in every game when faced with a real opponent. This year we have 4 loses, every single one of those loses have come to top 13 teams in the current standings. 4 of those 5 we went toe to toe with and held our own.

If we are able to pull a Jon Gruden type coach I understand the change, but Dooley has this program on an upward swing. We dont need to set the program back by making a coaching change again unless its for a TOP FLIGHT coach.

Do not forget how far Tennessee had fallen when Dolley took over.

Your not nearly as smart as you think. Fulmer and Kiffin have absolutely nothing to do with Dooley's lack of coaching ability. Its not just wins and losses it's his dumb decisions. btw, Fulmer lost to Memphis in 1996 which was not exactly one of Fulmers final years.

I am used to it and sort of expect a loss against any good team but that does not mean that it hurts less. I want my Vols to win; I get my hopes up; then something like today happens and it happens consistently.

And almost lost to them again with DeAngelo Willaims ran through the Tennessee defense at will.

I dunno, near the end I was honestly sorta hoping this would all end. I was converted from Sunshine Pumper to negavol in first half.

I'm ready for change.

Don't remind us. The ifs and buts we could be a one loss team. It hasn't happened ever though.

In the 90's and early 00's, their performance on the field impacted my whole weekend. Now I am numb to the losses.

I'm numb to it. I'm a young fan, and the only remotely good year I remember is the 2007 season. I love looking at the history of the Tennessee program and knowing that at one point, we were a force to be reckoned with. The "T" on that helmet stood for something special. Sadly, I don't even have a feeling of how cool that must have been.

I was genuinely excited for this season. 3-5? A joke. If I were an opposing fan, I would be laughing my ass off at us.

Like I said your not nearly as smart as you think. DeAngelo Williams never played against Tennessee let alone run at will against them. Good try
