Is it me, or did that one hurt really bad?

I gotta tell you. I have been throught some tought loses, but with the way the program has been the past years, todays hurt is going to stick with me as one of the toughest.

I was sitting on my couch pleeding for a turnover so that the Tennessee offense would have an opportunity for a game winning drive. After Bray made a few great throws I started thinking to myself, "this is it, this is where the pain and misfortune this team was endured over the past 5 season turns around". I really thought Vol fans were going to get the opportunity to let out all the emotion that has built up. I really thought we were going to celebrate a W over a top 15 team, but it wasnt to be.

People can complain about the QB, the players and coach all they want. It was clear today that thosekids were playing extremely hard even after the loses they had siffered in past weeks. Dooley had his team ready to play today and again the ball just bounced the other way.

Nope. I felt the same way I have about every game this season when we get close. "How are we going to mess this game up?" I love my Vols, but I don't have any faith in this team or coaching staff to finish a game or to do what needs to be done to win. If we're down, I just assure myself that we're going to lose. Call me a fair-weather fan, I'm not. But this is just the effect Dooley has had. I now expect us to lose every game that we're supposed to, and I don't feel confident about any game that we are supposed to win. I'm honestly worried about Troy. And Vandy. And Mizzou. And yes, even Kentucky.

It's hard to win when you give up 38 points. We just got lucky that Lattimore went down and that Tiny held his own against Clowney.

I expect things like this to happen this year. I guess I've seen too much bad football to expect something else

Agree. this one was tough to swallow. I think the players left it all on the field today. It truly sucks that Clowney finally showed up with 1 min left in the damn game. No one ever 'deserves' to win but these guys came awfully close to it today.

Yep. I started to get a little pucker factor as well as we were driving down the field at the end.

After the fumble, all I could say to myself was, "You know better, why did you let yourself begin to believe?"

That loss did hurt, a lot. You can't expect to stop, IMO, the best DE in the SEC and one of the top in the country 100% of the game. He made the play when it mattered, and that's just what happens. Our defense is what lost it. You people that say things like "Meh, I'm used to it," or "Nah, I expected it," just shut up. You sound stupid.

Tough loss? This one wouldn't be in the top 100...

Another moral victory...

0-15
0-for-October
0-5 start 3 years in a row was first in history for UT and only other team with that stat is Vandy

We play UK to figure out whether we're in the SEC cellar.

Unacceptable! :hi:

I'm so upset and just in a funk, that I can care less about any other game on today. Saturday is my day to watch football all day, but I have seen enough football in one game to do me for the day. I need a nap. :hmm:

This one got me, really thought we were going to pull it off. Proud of how hard they played. Will be tough at work facing all the SC fans.

You're the only one I've seen claim this as a moral victory.

Sorry but I disagree. As much as I hate admitting it, Dooley has conditioned me into expecting these. I watched every second of the game and really never got the "buck fever" feeling that we really had a chance at winning.

No pain, that passed in year two of Dooley's tenure. Look Dooley's teams find a way to lose. I sit down the whole time whether SC scored Tenn scored...you all know they will not get it done with this coach. Quite frankly I would not be surprised if the team decided they were done and gave up for the rest of the season.

Thank you. It was difficult to tell sarcasm on that post. :) :hi:

Yeah.. I know. We all had another bad day... but I'm way past ready to move on. That's all.

Hire a solid coach... and we're all back on the same side of this show again.
