If it is Debord he should do the honorable thing and throw himself on a sword.

Azzanni will probably be given the OC reigns and that might be interesting. Throw the d*^# ball down the field !!

The OLine is porous but why?

Dobbs. Well there is Dobbs. He really doesn't throw the ball down the field accurately much but is that due to the scheme, his skills and/or Oline?

Anyway the truth is probably a little bit of all of the above but I do believe Azzanni will be our next OC whether we like it or not.

What say you?

Why on earth would the OC position go to a coach whose position group (receivers) has underperformed every year? If the passing game is not working, and it is not, why would the passing coordinator be promoted? One of the main guys involved in a disfunctional system gets put in charge of the entire offense? This makes absolutely no sense.

It baffles me that I keep seeing this.

All 3 are big problems. If Debord and Mahoney are kept, Butch will be fired next year.

Problems on the OL precede DeBord and Dobbs. The problems lie with Mahoney and Jones before anyone else

It appears to me the main problem is the offensive line. They are just not blocking well. Dobbs is not a good passer, but he is a good quarterback because of his leadership and his running. When the line is blocking well Dobbs has good games.

I've said it before, Dobbs is a great young man, kind of young man you hope your daughter would marry one day. Unfortunately, at best he is an average QB in the SEC. Accuracy and turnovers have plagued him. Too many times he misses his throws. Like the person a lot just not as the starting QB at TN.

The OL was not a problem on Dobbs' two INTs vs SC. Nor was it a problem vs A&M when Dobbs had two INTs and two fumbles. The OL has not been anything to brag about, but it's been serviceable.

Dobbs - for all his wow moments and intelligence, has looked lost at times doing something that should be 2nd nature at this stage in his career. He's either un-coachable or not coached correctly. I guess I only eliminated one option. We need to lose Dobbs and Debord.

Here's a thought, stop sulking, purchase a ticket to the game this weekend. On the bright side, the tickets should be inexpensive and the team could use your support after the week they've had!

I will admit that I'm not a fan of Butch's style of offensive spread, that being said I do believe that it can be successful, IMO it is dependent on having a QB and OC that have a great feel for tthe flow of the game in making the correct play calls and reads needed for it to be successful. Both of which I think the team is currently lacking.

Wait... Are sensible suggestions allowed on FF threads? Should Sara save herself by retreating to the Endzone threads where regulars will embrace her?

OLine HAS BEEN A DUMPSTER FIRE SINCE BEFORE JONES. JONES HASN'T FIXED IT MUCH EITHER. CAN'T REALLY RUN BLOCK; CAN'T REALLY PASS BLOCK. OUR LATEST 5 STAR OLine RECRUIT SEEMS TO BE A BUST.

I DON'T SEE US GETTING BETTER THAN 8 OR 9 WINS WITHOUT A MORE PHYSICAL, DOMINATING OLine.

I am not an X & O person by any stretch....but I do cringe and grit my teeth every time Dobbs cocks his arm to throw. Sometimes its just painful to watch. A SENIOR QB in the SEC should be lighting it up with downfield passing.

All three. If the oline was better the other two would look way better though.

Don't discount the wr contribution too. Bad routes, not getting open, drops, penalties.

I think the blame has progressed through all three. The o-line playing so poorly has killed Dobbs' confidence/performance and Debord isn't adjusting the offense to take pressure off of Dobbs passing and leaning on the few things our offense can do well. The order of blame: 1)o-line 2)Dobbs 3)Debord.

Just my opinion.

Not really. The OL Jones inherited was very, very good. Three were drafted, another I believe got a tryout, and Tiny only didn't go pro due to injury. Dooley failed at many things but the OL he developed in 3 years beats anything Jones has done since.
