Is Fulmer really mad/hurt?

The question is mislead by whom?

With the changes in leadership, there is no doubt there is a lot of power brokering going on among the big donors and others who have and/or think they should have a voice in everything.

It's possible, if not likely, that CPF was getting information from someone who thought they were a player in this game but, in fact, were not.

I imagine he'll lay low for a while and come out smiling for the University. I just can't imagine him doing anything else.

Either Charlie Anderson, who was his lone advocate in the search committee, or President DiPietro, who he's been working with doing fundraising for the last year and a half or so ..... those would be my guesses.

Clearly it wasn't anyone named Haslam, since Big Jim is clearly the one who made the final decision, just like he has for the better part of 40 years now on all major hiring decisions.

Was Big Jim behind the hiring of Fulmer back in the day? I've watched documentaries commenting on "backers".

Is he as powerful as Crowder was at Auburn?

Phil will be mad for awhile, but if UT can juice his bank account with some ambassadorship position paying a couple of hundred thousand, he'll be ok.

You can bet your bottom dollar on it. Widely known that he has final say on all major hires and has for decades now.

I don't play golf, but, even I know that PF would rather be driving around on a fairway than be putting up with that stuff.

Agree. According to Ainge, CPF would've been taking a substantial pay cut from his current position at Resource Advisory Services had he been hired as AD......certainly didn't need the money nor the headache.

I know people that got their undergrad at Tennessee and their masters at Vandy......are they Vandy guys?

I will say this: I went to Tennessee for a post-bachelors degree with people who attended undergrad at many universities, some with heavy football tradition and some with heavy basketball tradition. The only persons that didn't make Tennessee either their main team or a close second were those persons that attended SEC schools.
