His opinion is nothing like yours. And I could have sworn the purpose of a message board was to respond to the opinions of others, especially when they are fallacious.

I think anyone seriously throwing a hat in the ring for the best coach is almost forced to do it now because of Clemson's preemption.

Given my obvious belief that the decision has been made on Fulmer, my guess is UT is in full swing talking to many potential candidates. I believe Fulmer is being negotiated with on how it goes down -- this way if word gets out that UT is searching, then it isn't a surprise to CPF.

Obviously, no one is coming in mid-season so firing Fulmer isn't a necessity mid-season. However, things need to be set up so UT can start placing calls and putting out the proper feelers while other schools do the same. This Clemson decision I believe expedited the "talks" with Fulmer so we didn't fall too far behind in contacting prospective coaches.

So for all the Fulmer-haters -- you might want to thank Clemson....at least, that's my guess.

Auburn would be crazy to let him go. They have beaten Alabama 5 years in a row. Had a undeafeated season and has been to the SEC championship game, with a win. Tubbs only problem, much like our current head coach, is they went with that dumb a** spread offense without having the personel to do it. The SEC is not losing recruits to the WAC or Big 12 because they offer that style of offense. We need to go back to basics, line up punch the other guy in the mouth and run it down their throats. Quit trying to play West Coast offense and stick with what has worked for over 100 years.

to be fair, Carroll and Davis were both canned before they came to the college level
then he's probably right if he's talking about Gruden. I'm not remotely thinking about Gruden. I assume any NFL type talk is about guys currently out of work.

I agree. That's what Satan is doing (power football) and it's workin' out pretty good for him. Ask UGA!

Wouldn't shock me if Auburn canned him this week. Clemson ignited powder kegs all over the country.
One of the wisest ADs in the nation had it right: "That which must be done inevitably should be done immediately."

Nick Saban proved, "If you show them money, they will come"

You guys really consider Saban an example of an NFL coach?
1 year and done= Petrino<Saban

No NFL coach with ties to anyone outside his banker would come back to college.

Not aiming this at you, but I remeber a lot of people screaming for the spread the last couple of years. I happen to agree with you, I prefer the pro style.

Saban's looking to get back to the NFL---when he wins a title at bama, which may be this year, the nfl will come calling again with major money (more than $7 mil).

As much as i would like that to happen, i believe we'll have to put up with saban for awhile.

I don't think the NFL comes calling again any time soon.

I also don't think Saban is in a rush to get back to the NFL.

My guess is that he's gonna be at Bama for a while.
