I'm thinking either DD is drunk or things are looking better than expected coming out of week one of Fall practice.

The news on Lane is off the charts, all the regular practice attenders have raved:
Skeet, Koach, Zas (although he's been absent)

Multiple players on both sides getting multiple looks. Many of our starters are practicing multiple positions.

What has apparently happened in camp so far has preceded all expectations I had for this team coming in.

I ask this non sarcastically... What were the expectations?

Not to hear DD talking positively. Even when we looked ok last year he was still pretty critical. This year there has been little of that. Either he got more relaxed and or was forced to or these guys are impressing him. Also I didn't anticipate rave reviews on Lane in just week one. Those are jmo

Dooley is using his own form of wacky psychology, last year he kept saying we sucked cause he wanted our guys to work harder (and we did suck), this year he is saying more positive things because our guys have come in and are already working really hard, so he wants to let them know they are doing a good job (and we probably are better, even though he said we aren't a very good team yesterday).

So all in all, we have no idea wth Dooley is saying, or why.

When you 12,000 tickets to sell, expect good news.

Dooley tells it like it is. We had plenty of tickets to sell last year, and he gave us nothing but doom and gloom. And he knows better than anyone that Vol fans can have unrealistic expectations, and that it's his head if they get out of hand.

DD said yesterday, "we have a lot of good football players out here, but we're not a good football team yet." He seems encouraged by the increase in size, speed, talent relative to this time last year, but he also throws in a lot of "time will tell" and "can he/they sustain" statements. The Vols will be better this year, eight regular season wins...including at least one upset.

From what I saw at practice today, I expect nothing but improvement from last year. I saw a team that is focused, disciplined, determined, and mature. Everything indicated that this team is much more competent than last year, and I have the words of the coaching staff to back me up. Just watch the interviews for confirmation.

I guess if you work for Nick Saban for 7 yrs you pick up some of his habits.

Look on practice thread
Posted via VolNation Mobile

You are the one who mentioned you went to practice today.

He simply asked about it.

Not very nice to tell him to go look at the other thread when you are the one who mentioned it in this thread.

I won't name any names, but our grammar has been terrible in this thread. We can do better, folks.

Does anyone think Dooley has been selling us short and we might have a better team than everyone expects?

Maybe you thought they looked ok last year...but he didn't, obviously. Of course he has a slight advantage, he's on the field with them.
