I know that he has been moved to DE. Let me start out by saying I am a CD fan and friend of some of his family. I just wonder with all the injuries at LB and depth at DE can he not be moved back or is his coverage that bad? I thought that he may have gotten a shot with all the injuries but it dosen't look like it. I don't see him touching the field as a DE.

CD was highly overrated. Great kid, looked good his junior year against AA competition. Old staff felt they had to take him to retain foothold in West Tennessee recruiting.

If he hadn't been in West Tennessee, UT would not have signed him.

Then why was he a top 20 player across the board?

Something just doesn't add up here. At one time he was a 5* recruit. Yeah, maybe they were off a star or two, but now he can't beat out walk-on non-scholarship guys? Just does not sound right.

I agree. He is either terrible or something else, just dosen't add up. Do you think CEO might be a little bitter losing him in the recruiting battle?

I have wondered about CD also. They should at least give a some reps against Kentucky and see if he can produce some

It doesn't "sound" right. I watched him play in H.S. He's not the first guy with great straightaway speed, looks like Adonis, but can't play dead.

I'm guessing he doesn't have the speed to play MLB. That said, it is difficult to believe he's not faster, stronger, and definitely bigger then Nick Reveiz.

Apparently he hasn't worked as hard as Reveiz did. :twocents:

Well, allright, I guess you've seen him in more field action than I have ... but I did see him make some plays from linebacker in our spring game of '08. I know it was just a spring game against ourselves ... but he looked linebackerish then to me. Coaches know stuff I don't; I'll hush about it.

Walk ons are playing before him. He might have been a 5* but please remember, those rankings aren't everything.

Well, this is absolutely an absurd statement, do you realize how many rectuits coaches lose every year. Yes, I know your better than anyone we have, but I'm mad because you didn't come play for me. Wow, your the same guy screaming for JC to be pulled because you know more than the coaches.

I dont think there is any denying that CD has the "physical" talent (size, speed, etc.) I would wager that he has under performed largely because he is used to how the previous staff allowed players to practice....which is lazily, if the player so wanted. Hopefully this staff can break him before he graduates and becomes quite possibly the biggest bust in TN recruiting history that actually made it all the way through 4 years of playing.

Your right. I made no sense there. It just dosen't seem like he couldn't get a shot. If I ever called for JC to be benched it was only when he was struggling this year, I would bench my own son if he wasn't playing good. Sometimes you bring somebody in to provide a spark not to bench them permenately.

Also, if CEO was mad at him then why would they move him to DE. My guess is CEO still likes him and thinks he can use his athleticism on the line.
