The safer bet is no, since coaches change rapidly these days.

If he is, hopefully it's not because we win 8-9 games a year and become content with that. Not that 9 wins is bad, but we should be gunning for a national championship every year under our long term coach

I said no for a few reasons....too many statistical reasons why anyone wouldn't last that long in this day and age.

1) He fails and gets fired
2) He has major unexpectedly great success and is hired away.
3) Life happens....paint your own picture.

Do I hope he is? Yes, of course. That only means great things for he and UT.

Hope he is extremely successful here and stays a long time, but hard to imagine him not burning out. Extremely pressurized job, to say the least.

Let's see. A week a go people were naming his replacement. UT beats a mediocre UGA team and he's coach for life?

He won't last ten years. And, the chances of UT winning another NC in the next ten years is extremely low, IMO.

Modern college football says no. Don't see too many coaches around for 10+ years at the same school

Looking at my crystal ball now..... It says Kacy Rodgers (who?) will be our head coach at this time 3 years from now. Wow!

And when / if we beat Bama, they will all the sudden be mediocre too. It cant be that were actually pretty good. By no means do I think Butch has been a great 4th quarter coach but I think he's done a very good job in all other aspects of the job. When the talent continues to improve, his job is only going to get easier.

In 10 years, Butch will be recruiting coordinator under Gruden with Peyton as OC/qb coach and Eric Berry as DC and EV Berry as ST. They'll have guest speakers like Da'Rick to preach what not to do and Paul Bane will have the University named after him.Rod Wilks will have his picture on our new Smokey Rod helmets and beer will be sold in the stadium from the sidelines. Bray will listen for your order and throw you a beer so you don't even have to leave your seat.
