IS BUTCH fireproof?

The message from Currie seems to be that Butch is his man. One gets the idea that Butch could drown a bag of kittens and punch a sports writer at his presser and Currie would just look the other way. What is the real story? Is it all about the buyout? If Butchs ego and pride is as big as it appears then why does he want to stray here where it is obvious he isnt wanted. An honorable man would make a deal ( a reduced BO) and resign. He knows that he has failed . I just dont get it.

Butch has won 3 bowl games and also brought recruiting up from where it was 5 years ago.
Currie probably thinks that this bad season is a once in a 100 year season and that Butch will bounce back next season.

Butch canceled recruiting visits and stopped tweeting. He’s been fired. He is an acting interim coach most likely, probably negotiated a reduction in his buyout in trade for letting him stay until he found another job.

If the recruiting is so good why dont we have depth? Truth is he didnt recruit well at all.

The real deal is that Currie and whoever is going to make the hire are too afraid to make a hire.
Bottom line is that if the next football coach flops, Currie and rest of AD will be out of jobs.
Currie is fairly young and he probably doesn't want to go out on a bad note.

There is no way Butch is here next year. You can count on that like death and taxes. I know everyone wants him gone A$AP. Put in a interim and we still won't be happy.

I don't claim to have any inside info or big time source but I can tell you this. I went to school with a girl who does work in the financial Dept at TN and she said Butch has been gone for weeks and the buyout has been renegotiated and completed. She knows nothing as far as names for potential new hires or anything like that. Currie is playing that close to the chest and very few people are privileged to that info. But the buyout and firing of Butch has already happened. Only other thing she knows is Currie has followed the advice of Fulmer to not fire midseason and nobody wants the Interim job. But obviously things could change if Neyland is half empty today. So people need to quit worrying about Butch being here past this year it's not gonna happen.

Exactly!! He is gone and has been and like you said you can include that with death and taxes when it comes to guarantees in life.

This is absolutely the farthest thing from the truth.
