Is Bryce the next Herschel?

Good probable....Great maybe....Next HW we can wish but you never know however I doubt it. Lets play at least one or two seasons, see what happens before we make up these kinds of questions.

FYP. Awful lot of speculation over a kid that might not be eligible to play his first collegiate game.

Herschel was a beast. I remember him running over Bill Bates on the goal line. Bates rep was like EB and Herschel never let up. Herschel was a power runner with 4.3 speed and 220lbs, a freak of nature. BB is going to be outstanding, I hope more like Herschel than Bo Knows All, but lets pray that the NCAA lets him play first.

Bill Bates never saw a day where any sane person thought he was an elite player.

No...it is not likely that he will be one of the best college football players of all time. That shoe fits Herschel and Bo.

That is why Bill Bates played for the Cowboys for years and respected throughout the NFL

Yeah, look at all the All American teams he made in college. He's a real legend.

Bates went to my high school so I like him but he was a special teams player much like like small white guy for the Bills in the '90s... Steve Tasker I think was his name.

If we end this season with there being legit talk (not just hyperbole) putting Brown in the same league with Webb and Lewis as Fr I'll be ecstatic.

One thing I would like to point out is by all accounts I've heard Bryce has good hands. Not just "can catch a little flare out of the backfield" but some no BS making catches down the field set of mitts. That's something that can really make a D sweat. To stay with the comparison Walker actually had good hands though I don't recall that being used much in college and certainly not to the degree as his pro career. I don't think Jackson was ever considered to have good catching skills.

2003 #1RB(#2) - Reggie Bush(USC)
2004 #1RB(#1)- Adrian Peterson(OU)
2005 #1RB(#10) - Jonathon Stewart(UO)
2006 #1RB(#3) - Chris (Beanie) Wells(tOSU)
2007 #1RB(#2) - Joe McKnight(USC)
2008 #1RB(#6) - Darrel Scott(CU)

if anything, those statistics should tell us to be excited, but to temper that excitement...as all those backs except the two you conveniently listed left early for the draft...and who knows? both could have breakout seasons this year as they will be a JR(McKnight) and a SO(Scott) respectively.

McKnight is not Reggie Bush as most people were hailing him coming in at USC...

Scott, so far has been a disappointment and isn't the starter officially for the Buffs. But, their starter(Rodney Stewart) is battling a few injuries in fall camp and Scott has been getting reps with the ones.

I dunno about you guys, but I will take the #1 RB ANYTIME he wants to come here, regardless of past history.
