Is Ausmus gone to USC?

So stinkin what! This thread has to go in the (I Dont Care File) portion of my brain. There are numerous SC coaches out there. There are only so many different ways you can teach Squats, Cleans, and Bench which are the important ones. Every one of those coaches steal ideas from their peers about the rest. Push a tractor tire over, tie a chute on someone and run with it! Maybe Dooley feels better with one of his guys. Those usuallly are one of your buddy hires. I sure hope the Vol Football complex secretary doesnt leave, that might just push some of yall over the edge!lol

Somebody on here gets it. LOL. This is not a loss.

The more I think about it, the more it seems like Ausmus wanted to go. If Dooley wanted to talk with Ausmus about his plans for the future, why would AA automatically assume that he didn't want to retain him? Why just pack up and move to USC? Why so close to signing day? Isn't this oddly similar to WMG leaving, with virtually no notice? Let's think about this.... Ausmus is supposedly "orange-blooded"... Yet, as soon as Kiffin offers him a job at USC, Dooley "doesn't want to retain him"? And AA leaves the school he supposedly loves, to work for the coach that has systematically done everything in his power to screw UT over? Something doesn't add up.

I really liked Ausmus...... but if you look back on last year was he really doing that great of a job? I remember us having to call time outs on defense in the Auburn and Ole Miss games because our defense was gassed. We still got pushed around on both OL and DL. Just meh results. I think we can do better. This shouldn't have any impact on recruiting.

Our AD and coach need to set down with LT and JC and see where their heart is. If one of them were to leave next week to join USC before NSD it will really look like "X" is trying to destroy our program.

Man I really hope this isn't true or DD brings in somebody that is very high caliber. I really really liked Ausmus and the fact that he bled orange and loved to make the players better simply because they represent all things TN. I really wanted to keep him!

This isn't about hanging on to a guy that the players liked. A HC, any HC, should be able to hire his own staff. All of them.

I think some of the strength coaches tend to overemphasize the strength side and sacrificing the conditioning side.

From everything I've heard the only reason Ausmus will leave is if DD doesnt want him. He's not jumping ship unless he has to.

We all thought this guy was good, but you know, if Dooley has a specific way of doing things, we need to trust that he knows what he's doing. I'm sure he made an educated decision. Let's just sit back and trust that he might know more about this than us...as unlikely as that may be!

Another thing... Does Dooley's statement that he wants kids that are devoted to UT NOT apply to coaches? And if it DOES apply to coaches(and I'm assuming it does) why didn't Ausmus do everything he could to keep his "dream job"??? If we had landed the number 1 recruit of the decade, and he was from Alcoa(grew up a UT fan), but DD told him that they were gna have to talk about his future as a vol, and that he may not get to do things the way he is used to (ie. adjust to a new scheme)..... and lets say that the kid signs with USC, because he doesn't think he'll be able to accomodate to the new scheme in time to start as a freshman.... Would we say that's a bad move on Dooley's part? So in conclusion.... Who do we let run our ship? A strength and conditioning coach? Or a head coach? I think the answer is pretty obvious.

I agree. I did not see any superior conditioning or strength.

He would not have left if DD had wanted him to stay as SC. DD may want his own guy in that position. USC offered him a contract; DD had not done so yet.

I don't know man. It gets kind of annoying. I mean, it's basically someone saying, "hey, look what this guy posted", even though everyone can see it clearly.

We could say 'Ditto', 'True dat', 'Yep', 'I hear ya', 'I'm feeling ya', 'What he said'......

You didn't just fall off a turnip truck, buy a computer and start posting on message boards did you? Dang......I hope you don't have a degree from UT.......

we weren't strong enough to get one yard to beat ucla so just how strong were we last year anyway? kiffin won 7 games with his staff and his offense so lets just hope he can keep his group together and have a few more 7 win seasons and see how the media views him then. the only thing that sucks is that i will have to pull for notre dame for one game next season.

Too much thought into who the strength and conditioning coach will be. Not that big of a deal.
